MONTRÉAL, QUÉBEC (January 2009) – Having leapt out of the blocks back in 1979, the KangaROOS brand is marking thirty years of original, athletic footwear with a commemorative collection of classic styles. The “30 Year” capsule collection is lead by the unmistakable “Combat” – The authentic ROOS running shoe that has triumphed time after time in marathons across the planet. Lovingly re-crafted to the same specifications as the originals, the shoes come in a lightweight nylon/suede upper, with a super comfortable EVA mid-sole, and of course the defining oversized external pocket. The Combat will be offered to men only for spring 09, in black & red; starting fall 2009 for women’s in fun bright colors. Lovers of basketball inspired shoes will love the ROOS sports heritage with the “Skywalker” women’s hi-top in a multicolor version. The Skywalker got its name as a result of its super lightweight thick-weaved canvas construction and it screams 80’s taste and design aesthetics. With a branded rubber cup sole, adjustable ankle strap and the much-vaunted external pocket this shoe was made to perform.
