MAKE UP FOR EVER Rouge Artist Intense Swatches #22 & #36

Randomly found these @makeupforeverUS Rouge Artist Intense Lipsticks sitting in one of my bags and remembered I wanted to share with you these little tubes of beeeautiful, bold color! For the last few months, I had been on the hunt for the perfect hot pink lipstick and the #36 is it! I tried a few drugstore and prestige brand lipsticks but none of them had the exact brightness, opacity, intensity, or non-shimmer that I wanted. When I was at the MAKE UP FOR EVER LA Boutique launch a few months, I had gotten the #36, a satin hot pink, and #22, a creamy, satin nude along with other goodies in my goodie bag.

Sephora describes these lipsticks as:

Formulated with 50% more pigment than the traditional lipstick, Rouge Artist Intense gives an immediate true-to-color result. A blend of three natural waxes, the creamy texture glides on effortlessly for a long-lasting hold. The extensive color and texture range provides unlimited creativity.

These lipsticks are truly long lasting with amazing color payoff. What you see in the tube is what you get. The #22 is a bit too heavy for me. Because its winter and lips are constantly dry, the satiny skintone/nude isn’t something I can apply straight on to my lips without blending because it sinks into cracks and lines almost giving me a sick look. Also, the biggest issue I personally have with nudes is that I get a line between my lips and the lip color with looks horrible! #22 applied with an extremely light hand and blended well with lip balm and lip gloss works best for me. #36 on the other hand is wonderful! So pigmented and although it is a satin, it goes on pretty matte for me if I don’t apply too much lip balm before. I’m a BIG BIG BIG fan of matte lipsticks. This is perfect for spring and summer coming up, although I totally still rock it in the winter #judgeme 🙂

Try ’em out ladies 🙂
