    Excited for F.O.A.M Festival

DJ M.O.S. (New York, Miami) headlines the inaugural event and DJ Tom Wrecks (Toronto) and DJ/drum crew CrashDex (Toronto) have been invited to lend their homegrown talent to the musical stage. A carefully-crafted list of emerging and established Toronto artists have been invited to create art installations using recycled and discarded materials, supporting Evergreen’s policy to promote and encourage sustainability. Artists will manipulate the Brick Works using sound, space and light, working within a theme aptly titled “Construct/Deconstruct”. FOAM is held in support of motionball, a not-for-profit that introduces the next generation of supporters to the Special Olympics Canada movement through social and sporting events. To date, motionball has donated more than $2.7 million to Special Olympics Canada. I’m going! Are you…

Event LOVE: Skinnygirl Summer Social Tweet-Up #SkinnyGirlTO

What can I say about the Skinnygirl event last night…? I had too much fun. I don’t know if it had something to do with the weather, the Skinnygirl cocktails, the people and/or the yummy hors d’oeuvres, but I had a blast!  A number of us gathered at the Drake Hotel on queen street for the Skinnygirl launch tweet-up party where we got to try the new lineup of Skinnygirl cocktails. I tried the entire lineup of Skinnygirl cocktails, but once I tried the Skinnygirl Sangria, that was my drink for the rest of the night… so good! love! Septembre’s twist out was amazing! love casie’s lil scarf! such a…

    Refreshing Hawaiian Cocktails from Halekulani

Right about now, I’m starting to itch for a tropical trip. It’s been six months since I was last in Miami and nearly a year since the three months that I spent living in Cancun. I’m going through withdrawal! But I just found out my cousin will be based in Hawaii for his new flight attendant gig, and I am already plotting my trip in which I will be crashing his pad! In the meanwhile, I’m going to try out these delicious, refreshing cocktail recipes from Halekulani, Waikiki’s legendary beachfront hotel, and wanted to share them with you. Along with Halekulani’s signature Mai Tai, which was invented and still served…

    Drink Fresh @ZeroWaterFilter

If you remember, 6 months ago I got my first ZERO WATER FILTER  – I went to buy a new filter because the old one started to look crazy (on the left) enough though the water reader was still reading 000 when tested. You are suppose to change it when it reads 006.  Water from the tap here in Brooklyn reader 032.  The new filter has a slimmer shape and filters a bit faster than the old one.  I like it! Make sure you are not drinking toilet/tap water by getting the Zero Water Filtration system!

    Long Hair..Don’t Care…

Tonight I did one of the most drastic things-I’ve cut my hair the shortest it has ever been. Before tonight, I had some pretty long locks that landed just above my waistline. Like this… But as a summer of new beginnings and new experiences rolled in, it was time for some change. I decided to donate my hair to Locks of Love and go for a shorter…more sophisticated look. At least, that’s what I hope it looks like. So to new hair, new new, and fun new styles/looks I’ll be able to do now 🙂 A little snip it about Locks of Love for those of you who might not…

Stuck on Weldbond: D.I.Y FUN Pt. One

I was recently bitten by the D.I.Y bug, after receiving a tube of WeldBond glue. Once I saw Mo’s “The Fabric Treatment” post a couple of months ago, I was totally inspired, so it was only a matter of time before I tried it out. So I took to a simple pair of black wedges, cut up some spare fabric, and got to glueing! I have to admit, I was worried that I’d make a total mess, ruin my shoes, and waste my fabric, but it turned out pretty good. I love that WeldBond dries clear, and the best part about it (apart from it’s glueing capabilities lol), it’s non-toxic, so…
