Fall Beauty Finds — C.O. Bigelow Apothecaries

It’s the most wonderful time of the year!!! Nope, I’m not talking about the holiday season. I’m talking about the glorious time when the leaves start changing, drinks get warmer, and cozying up is all we want to do. Yes that’s right, it’s almost fall!!! With a new season comes a change in whether which might mean it’s time to revamp your skin care regimen. It can get pretty windy during the fall and the added chill can really dry out your lips.

I recently tried out C.O. Bigelow Apothecaries lip care line! These products are absolutely fantastic. With so much variety, they are suited to meet any of your lip care needs.

C.O. BigelowFor starters, the C.O. Bigelow Mentha Lip Shine/ Breath Freshener No. 502 is a light balm that’s mint flavored. I love putting this on right before I am about greet people or during a meeting. My lips are moisturized, shiny, and my breath is refreshed without having to chew gum or a mint!

lemonNext up is the fruity flavored C.O. Bigelow Lemon Lip Balm No. 1421. This one is not as shiny as the previous one but it packs a tasty lemon punch. Shea Butter and lemon oil keep your lips hydrated while the added Vitamin C nourishes your lips from the inside out.

C.O. Bigelow Rose Salve No. 012 is a product I have used for years.!! It’s so versatile and can be used from head to toe. I especially love to use on it my elbows. I do a lot of plank holds when I work out and that causes my skin to become dry. The Rose Salve is the perfect solution and the scent is very pretty. I’ve used it on my lips and nail cuticles as well. It’s great for any areas that are irritated and need extra attention.

nightFor even more intense healing the C.O. Bigelow My Favorite Night Balm No. 306 is the ultimate in hydration with added Shea Butter. I used this balm four nights in a row and I already feel a difference in the softness and moisture of my lips.

Prices of these fabulous fall finds range from $5.50 to $7.50.

    Stay Lovely!

Screen Shot 2015-09-15 at 9.27.07 PM

For 50 years, Marshall has shaped the sound of rock ‘n’ roll with their premium amplifiers. More recently, they have proven that a stadium sound experience is possible at home with the introduction of their high quality headphones and Bluetooth speakers. Building on this tradition of sound evolution, Marshall is proud to introduce the Acton: their newest and smallest speaker, combining new-school technology with old-school style.

All speakers in the Marshall family maintain the classic vintage design; the frets, brass details and iconic script logo all pay homage to the golden days of rock ‘n’ roll. Below are the three speakers available starting in the Spring/Summer 2015 season: the Acton, Woburn, and Stanmore.

Sustainable Style for NYFW – 10 Pairs of Jeans in a Ford

That’s right – 10 pairs of jeans in a Ford, and not because you’re using your trunk as a closet.

With eyes on New York runways this week, sustainability in style is top of mind… But how do recycled fabrics reach those of us who aren’t buying prêt-à-porter straight off the catwalk? Ford Motor Company has long recognized that sustainability is a key component in the future of great infrastructure and compelling design. In an effort to make its products more eco-friendly, Ford is continuously implementing innovative, sustainable materials and fabrics into each new vehicle. Screen Shot 2015-09-14 at 10.57.40 AM

Take recycled post-industrial cotton, for example. Vehicles such as the Ford Escape and Fusion (and even the tough F-150!) actually contain the equivalent of about 10 pairs of jeans, 26 bath towels, or 31 t-shirts – these sustainable textiles components are used as carpet insulation and sound absorption in the vehicles.

Furthering its mission to promote sustainable design, Ford teamed up with Coca Cola to use recycled plastic to create carbon polyester fibers in car seats. Constantly looking for more partnerships to continue the effort, including research with Heinz to explore the use of tomato fiber, Ford is at the forefront of stylish sustainability. Additionally, Ford is currently the only automaker to use REPREVE, a 100% recycled material used in its car seats worldwide; by using this material, Ford will divert more than five million plastic bottles from landfills this year alone!
