Event LOVE: #BlendSomethingFamous with @thefamousgrouse
We were recently invited to challenge our taste buds, and all of our senses in a fierce competition to recreate Scotland’s finest blended Scotch Whisky, all in the hopes of being crowned the “Master Blender.” The Famous Grouse treated us to an intimate creative tasting and blending session led by Brand Ambassador Marc Laverdiere at The Caledonian on College Street.
Armed with nothing but our palates, noses and half a dozen unidentified Scotch Whiskies, we had to recreate the complex and beloved profile of the Famous Grouse. It was definitely a fun experience, Marc was as helpful as he could be, but let me tell you recreating The Famous Grouse Whisky is quite the challenge!
So did I bring Fame or Shame to Scotland’s most loved Scotch Whisky? I’d like to say I did an awesome job… I didn’t win, but if you ask me my creation tasted exactly like it… kinda. I’m not a Whisky drinker (I know I say this all the time), so I’m always afraid and excited when I’m invited to an event that involves me drinking Whisky, but I was given some great advice by one of the attendees who say to drink a different Whisky everyday and I’ll definitely find one that I like…I’m not sure how good that’ll be for me in the long run… hmmmmm.
After we were done recreating or rather attempting to recreate the Famous Grouse Whisky, we were treated to a lovely dinner of smoked salmon and these AMAZING potatoes, Scotch Eggs (which I loooove) and another Whisky tasting. We definitely ate, drank and were very merry, and we also learned a great deal about Scotch! It was a great night 🙂

Shopping LOVE! @_CostaBlanca
I was recently chosen to be a Costa Blanca Ambassador and I. Was. Thrilled! I always used to shop at Costa Blanca years ago, but hadn’t really been in the last couple years. Then they had their Shop The Store event last year, where I got to tour the newly renovated store and was even treated to a beautiful turquoise maxi dress, a wicked neon yellow sweater and several gorgeous bangles… the spark was back, I was in love again!
I couldn’t wait to get in the store, and begin my ambassador duties! I told myself that I would be in there for an hour max, but I shopped for over four hours, and literally tried everything on! It was awesome, and I loved every minute of it. I’m pretty much over winter, so my focus was on pretty summer dresses, crop tops, flirty/sexy cocktail dresses, cute skirts and shorts and the occasional light sweaters, shorts… basically everything that had to do with lovely warm weather, I tried on and bought!

I hardly wear black, but this dress stole my heart!
Can’t go wrong with a navy blue, cute and flirty party dress! I don’t have navy blue or anything so this was a win for me!

I remember the stores being kind of dark a few years ago, but now they are brightly lit so you can see all the fabulous clothes! Love!

I was merciless with this Costa card. I left with bags full of goodies and was smiling from ear to ear the whole day…then I got home and played dress up with my new Costa Blanca gear.
Do you shop at Costa Blanca? If not, YOU SHOULD START! My favourite thing about Costa Blanca is that it caters to all my style needs, from modern basics to elegant pieces, and I can always find what I want, without having to spend an arm and a leg!

@LeChateauStyle Spring/Summer 2014 Preview #walkinclost
The weather has been yucky these past couple of weeks but that wasn’t enough to stop us from passing by the Thompson Residences to check out the new Le Chateau Spring/Summer 2014 collection. Pretty clothes, pretty shoes, tasty wine and cupcakes, are exactly what I needed after a long, cold and rainy day.
We walked into a gorgeous suite and were greeted with a cocktail before being led into the first room, which was the ladies bedroom; where some of the ladies were getting quick manis, as well as perusing the new collection in the decked out walk-in closet! Once we got the goods on the womenswear, we headed over to the men’s room to check out what was in that walk-in closet…the woman’s walk-in closet was way more fun…naturally lol

Event LOVE: Private Dinner @MichaelsOnSimcoe #michaelseoe
***DISCLAIMER*** You’re going to need a bib, a napkin, maybe even a towel before, during and after this, because it’s about to get real tasty around here!!
We were invited to attend the media launch of Michael’s on Simcoe, a modern Italian Steakhouse that playfully combines the best in contemporary cuisine, located in the heart of the Financial and Entertainment Districts of downtown Toronto . I didn’t understand what they meant when they said that it was Toronto’s best kept secret, but by the time I had a bite of my first appetizer, I knew exactly why!
They promised us an evening of elegance and I can honestly say that they delivered on that promise and more! The event was supposed to start at 7:30pm, but they decided to spoil us even more and invited select media to a private dinner hosted by Moët & Chandon before the actual dinner! I can’t describe how fast I got dressed just so I could get there already.
We were greeted with a tall, crisp glass of champagne and then led to the bar area where we were showered (yes that’s what it felt like)… we were showered with all kinds of delicious appetizers and of course more champagne. We hadn’t even sat down at the table and I was already getting full, but I wore a loose dress just so I could taste and savour everything that they had to offer! So now, enough talking. Sit back, relax (don’t forget your bib, if you haven’t started drooling already 🙂 ) and enjoy!
…when you have to take a #selfie because you need to show much you’re really enjoying the food, but you’re so full and you won’t stop, and even though you’re not smiling, your eyes show just how HAPPY you are! Yes. 
There was so much wine throughout the evening, and not one empty glass!

So what are my thoughts on Michael’s On Simcoe? I think I’ve already made it pretty clear that the food was fantastic! If I were to give my overall experience a rating out of 10, I would give them a 10. The wines were perfectly paired throughout our meal, and the staff? The staff took service to a whole new level, they knew the menu and their wines inside out, they were super attentive, friendly without being invasive, and accommodated every single request. Top notch service. Would I recommend it? Well if I have to recommend it after these pictures then I’m not sure you deserve all that goodness! I kid, Of Course you should go. You have to go.

I had so much fun at the Pink Martini FW13 Media/VIP Launch a few weeks ago, and was bummed when I couldn’t share the pics with you all, after suffering some serious technical issues with my Macbook.
