    The San Diego ShamROCK Music + Beer Festival returns to the streets of the Gaslamp Quarter on Friday, March 17, 2023, from 4PM-11PM. NEW in 2023: ShamROCK will be accessible to ALL AGES for the first time ever! For 27 years, locals and tourists alike have flocked to the Gaslamp Quarter as shamROCK transforms the bustling San Diego downtown neighborhoods into a Celtic carnival for the senses with an abundance of pub-style seating, flowing green beer, traditional Irish steppers, activities, Celtic rock bands, photo-ops, shenanigan games (with prizes!), and activation throughout the Gaslamp.

    In addition to a multi-block music and entertainment lineup, ShamROCK block party attendees will be welcome to enjoy FREE games throughout the day at the ShamROCK Shenanigans Block. Giant lucky Jenga, Pot of Gold Cornhole, and Giant beer pong are just some of the shenanigans that will test your skill and luck! Throughout the day, the infamous ShamROCK leprechaun emcee will be hosting showdowns on stage with epic prizes that would make even a leprechaun green with envy! Keep an eye out for the full game schedule to include Unicorn Races, Rainbow Streamer Relays, Magical Chairs and more.

    General Admission tickets start at just $35 for a day full of festivities, non-stop music, and a keepsake ShamROCK stein. VIP tickets start at just $79 and include 4 drinks, VIP dedicated entry, exclusive access to the Lucky Leprechaun VIP Irish Pub, festive Saint Patrick’s Day hat, upgraded restrooms, and other tantalizing treats to be announced.     Party with a purpose – This one-day Saint Patrick’s Day affair funds the year-long programs and museum operations for the Gaslamp Quarter Historical Foundation (GQHF), a small non-profit in the Gaslamp Quarter dedicated to preserving and protecting architecture, history, and the culture of the historic Gaslamp Quarter. The GQHF also runs the Gaslamp Museum at the Davis-Horton House, the oldest building in Downtown San Diego.

    After a three-year hiatus, the San Diego ShamROCK Music + Beer Festival is making a triumphant return to the streets of the Gaslamp Quarter on Saturday, March 12, 2022, from 2PM to Midnight. For 26 years, locals and tourists alike have flocked to the Gaslamp Quarter as shamROCK transforms the bustling San Diego downtown neighborhoods into a Celtic carnival for the senses with an abundance of pub-style seating, flowing green beer, traditional Irish steppers, Celtic rock bands, photo-ops, shenanigan games (with prizes!), and activation throughout the Gaslamp.
    Guests in 2022 can look forward to an impressive lineup as ShamROCK tips its hat to its past and returns to an Irish and Celtic rock-centric roster with headliner Young Dubliners. “We wanted to go back to our roots and really highlight the elements that made ShamROCK such a massive phenomenon for the last 26 years” says Rhiannon Luna of the Gaslamp Quarter Historical Foundation. “That means bringing the focus back to our bands and the laid back, community block party feel.”

It’s even transporting the Gaslamp Quarter to the hills of Ireland by bringing over 50,000 square feet of astroturf to cover the festival grounds! This 21 plusevent will host over 10,000 attendees, all welcome to as much green beer andTullamore Dew Irish Whiskey as their hearts desire.
    San Diego ShamROCK’s Celtic inspired festivities will begin Saturday March 14th from 2 PM to Midnight in the Gaslamp Quarter. As luck would have it, St. Patrick’s Day shamROCK will feature the shamROCK Shenanigans Block, three live stages, photo-opps, and the chance to collect this year’s commemorative stein to fill with green beer.
    Throughout this shamROCKIN’ block party, attendees can partake in the featured St. Paddy’s inspired games and contests at the shamROCK Shenanigans Block to win exclusive prizes and gift cards to The Field Irish Pub. Contestants will get the opportunity to test their luck in a series of competitive craic, which include:
    1. Stein Holding Contest: Pick up a pint and flex those beer muscles! Whoever can hold two 32oz. steins the longest will take home the gold!
    2. Irish Jig Off: Shake your shamROCKs and show off your best jig until the folk music stops to see who is the crowd favorite.

    4. Unicorn Races: Partner with a fellow leprechaun and bounce as fast as you can until one team reaches the end of the rainbow.
