What: Adoption Event and Doggy Makeover Day at Animal Haven in Partnership with Petfinder and Animal Planet
In celebration of October’s Adopt-A-Shelter-Dog Month, Animal Planet, Petfinder and Animal Haven will host an adoption event featuring doggy makeovers at Animal Haven rescue in New York City on Saturday, October 13. All are invited to come down to the Soho location between 12 and 3pm to meet dozens of adoptable dogs, who will be pampered and made over with the new line of Animal Planet grooming products. In addition, thefirst 60 attendees to arrive will receive a free dog toy, and three Animal Planet gift baskets will be raffled at the event.
With nearly 200,000 dogs of all types awaiting their fur-ever homes in shelters and rescues across North America, Petfinder.com is shining a brighter light on these adoptable canines throughout October for Adopt-A-Shelter-Dog Month. To date, Petfinder has worked with shelters and rescues, like Animal Haven, across the country to help more than 20 million pets find their fur-ever homes.
The Animal Planet grooming products that will be used for the doggymakeovers are designed to restore the natural moisture of a dog’s skin and coat – ensuring these pups are ready for their new pet parents. The line, available at Ross stores, includes Moisturizing Dog Shampoo, 2-in-1 Dog Shampoo & Conditioner, Aloe Vera Detangler for Dogs, and Aloe Vera Mini Mist Detangler for Dogs, ranging in price from $2.99 to $7.99. A portion of the proceeds from these products, and other Animal Planet items at the event, are donated to R.O.A.R (Reach Out. Act. Respond), Animal Planet’s national campaign that, together with leading animal organizations, leads the way in taking action and being a voice for the animals.
