AWARD-WINNING COMPETITIVE BBQ TEAMS JOIN FORCES IN GOWANUS FOR PIG BEACH POP UP
WHAT: Starting June 3, award-winning competitive BBQ teams Salty Rinse BBQ and Ribdiculous Bar-B-Krewe combine their talents to bring some of their all-time favorite dishes to Gowanus at Pig Beach, a casual outdoor comfort food experience. Pig Beach opens on the heels of exciting award news for both teams in the Memphis in May World Championship of BBQ – Salty Rinse BBQ was named runner up in the Whole Hog competition, a rarity for a northern team and took first in poultry, garnering a perfect score; Ribdiculus Bar-B-Krewe finished second in the ancillary exotic category. Pig Beach’s Baby Back Ribs, Smoked Short Rib Chili, Signature Pig Beach Burger and Sweet Pickles will make this a must try spot of summer.
WHO: Rob Shawger BBQ enthusiast and head of the award-winning Salty Rinse BBQ team leads this accomplished Pig Beach crew including:Shane McBride; Ribdiculous Bar-B-Krewe Captain and Executive Chef of Manhattan’s acclaimed Balthazar, Cherche Midi and Schiller’s; Salty Rinse’s Ed McFarland Executive Chef and Owner of Ed’s Lobster Bar in SoHo and Matt Abdoo Chef de Cuisine of Del Posto Restaurant. The team shares a strong passion for amazing food and is extremely excited to bring their talents to Gowanus.

The restaurant will be open Tuesdays-Thursdays 3pm-10pm, Fridays 3pm-midnight, Saturdays 11am-midnight and Sundays 11am-10pm, weather-permitting
