FLIPS Audio is taking music from SOLO 2 Social.  They come in 3 colors + 1 limited edition and can be found on flipsaudio.com and Wal-Mart.  What makes them different?  They become “speakers” when flipped!  What a cool concept.

As you know, a good pair of headphones make a world of difference. They can take your music experience to new heights when you get into all the dynamic sounds the beat and layers of vocals.  Needless to say I was excited to give Flip Audios a go.  When first opening the box I discovered a protective case for travel or storage with a zipper on the side. They were  nice enough to make me feel like I would enjoy the rest of this experience.

What kind of music do you like?

Not that we’re partial or anything, but everything about “flips” is different. Revolutionary, in fact. We like saying that because it’s true and, well, you only get to say that once…and only if your product really is revolutionary – breakthrough. That said, let’s take a look at the design. Flips are cool, comfortable, eye-catching, with clean lines and a solid build…no “cheap plastic” feel like some headphones have. The headphones are studio sized cans that can collapse on either side of each arm (allowing you to store them easier.)  The material of the headphones that rests on your ears is of noticeably good quality and seems to be very durable.  The headphones fit very comfortably on and have a good sound as well.  The volume adjusts high enough to drown out all sound around you.

The best part now….when you flip both headphones outward while you have them around your neck, the volume automatically turns up and they turn into travel speakers.  The travel speaker battery can be charged by connecting the headphones with a USB on your computer.  The portable speaker is louder than I imagined and filled up my living room enough sound to comfortably listen to.  These headphones will be a nice companion while traveling, I can see them coming in handy on a plane, in a hotel room or while out at the beach…with the headphones on sometimes and the portable speaker mode on sometimes. Solo 2 Social!
