I love makeup, but I know that I’m far from a professional makeup artist. So, in typical wannabe fashion, I turn to YouTube for guidance and some words of wisdom from the great video gurus — case in point, Give Good Face. Give Good Face is a YouTube channel featuring makeup tutorials by the ever-so-talented artist, Jordan Liberty. His quick and thorough video tutorials bring runway looks home, with instructional footnotes to guide you to your ultimate makeup look.

Here’s the video tutorial for creating a bright violet smokey eye that I tried out!

Seems simple enough right? It is! I mimicked the look with makeup from my own collection — a little less intense, but equally as dark.

I think it’s a great first try, and definitely a great look for a night out; what do you think?
