    It’s time for The Good Party

    Toronto-based social enterprise Good Foot Delivery reports significant positive social impact and return as it announces its annual fundraiser.


    July 10, 2014 (TORONTO) Calling all good people: Toronto-based social enterprise Good Food Delivery announces The Good Party, its annual fundraiser, on July 16, 2014 at Artscape Youngplace.


    Founded in 2010, Good Foot provides personalized point-to-point delivery service, and employment opportunities to people with developmental disabilities. The exceptionally talented team of Good Foot couriers delivers packages on foot or via public transit. Good Foot couriers cover hundreds of kilometers a day across the city and have delivered close to three thousand packages across the Greater Toronto Area so far in 2014.

    The Good Party will feature live entertainment from roots-rock band The Parlour Brothers, a silent auction, food from chef Anthony Rose (Big Crow, Rose and Sons, Fat Pasha) and additional snacks and treats from Good Foot foodie clients like Yam Chops & The Goods.

    This year’s fundraising goal of $75,000 will support the continued operation and growth of Good Foot, which is a non-profit, registered charitable organization.

    Good Foot has recently released a preliminary Social Return on Investment (SROI) analysis that demonstrates the organization’s significant positive social impact.

    The independent study, conducted by researchers at the University of Toronto’s Social Economy Centre, found that for every dollar invested in Good Foot, the social enterprise produced $2.36 in social value – more than double the investment and input.

    In social value terms, Good Foot moves goods swiftly at competitive prices while creating meaningful employment opportunities for people with disabilities, and transforming perceptions of what a courier can do. That’s in addition to improving health and well-being for employees and their families, facilitating financial independence and self-direction for employees, reducing healthcare and ODSP costs, and nurturing community connections via a low or no-impact ecological footprint.

    Now in its fourth year, what started as a two-person operation is now a team of 25 strong with 400 customers in the downtown core. Good Foot is progressively blazing a trail by changing the perception of what a social enterprise can accomplish. It’s business as usual with the bonus of bringing good people together to do good. The Good Party is an opportunity to support a groundbreaking local business and help generate true social value across communities.
