Tingling with Excitement!
“IDS is more than just a show. It is the total design experience.”I’m totally ready for an all new “total design experience”, what about you guys??!! Are you ALL excited for IDS 2010!!
I know I am! Last year the fabulous Miss Kai, attended the IDS 2009 Opening Party, and provided us with pictures that had us drooling over all things adorned with Swarovski Crtystals!

I’m looking forward to seeing all kinds of innovative Canadian and International products. *still tingling with excitement!*With inspirational exhibits featuring emerging and already established designers, IDS 10 is sure to provide us with more interior design, industrial design as well as architectural goodness!!

Not for Squares
I heart the “love collection!”I was sitting in @CocktailsbyGateau’s bedroom the other day, and couldn’t help but admire how she’d “dolled up” the sterile white walls that these condos come with… Betty Page posters, Victorian themed chalk boards, loads of absolute fabulousness! Later that night, I couldn’t help but cringe at how bare my walls were. For someone with my type of personality I thought this was pretty weird…Apart from my work/school schedule, and the “formula”byBella poster that’s strategically placed so it’s the first thing I see when I get up, I got nothing.
I want the fairy tale!As a teenager I loved putting up posters of all kinds of things; it was kinda like motivation, or admiration whatever lol, but I guess we all grow out of certain things. NOT. It’s time my walls got a little dirty, this sterile feel just ain’t cutting it! I did a little google’n and happily stumbled upon the Coulson Macleod Collections; “Art with attitude. Not for squares.”. Ding Ding Ding!The canvases are printed using pigmented inks, and sealed with UV protecting varnish. If looked after correctly they could last you as long as 100 years! It’s Feb! This is the shortest month of the year so let’s make it jam packed with fun. I am going to be attending the Trade preview today at Interior Design Show aka IDS09. Click the link on the right to see what it’s all about. One of my favorite all time inspirations is industrial designer, author and Canadian Karim Rashid. You might have heard his name from Umbra, his book Design Your SELF, and other engagements. The theme this year is Find Your Inspiration. Running from Feb 5-8 at the Direct Energy Centre on the CNE grounds, you should check it out. I am looking forward to the Crystal Clear, Studio North and Collaborations exhibits. Glittering prototypes with Swarovski crystal are so up my alley! On the 8th, they have a ‘GET GLAM’ special about how to glam up your living area. The panel talk and guest speakers are presenting 20 slides in 20 seconds. This is what life is about.Communication and how blogs steer design trends is a big topic this year. It’s all in one place, stay fresh, and inspire yourself. Bath trends, Fashion colors, lighting techniques, global trends, designs and color research, sustainability vs luxury – so excited!
