TONI&GUY @Hair_Wardrobe Take London Fashion Week By Storm

Fashion never stops—thanks goodness! And this past week all the top designers were putting their creations on show at London Fashion Week (including the debut of Manolo Blahnik). And once again, hairstyles were just as talked about as the clothing styles.

TONI&GUY had some of the most coveted styles of the London catwalks, with their Hair Meet Wardrobe line of styling products (which, incidentally, was just introduced to the U.S. market in August). Matthew Williamson, Todd Lynn and Vivienne Westwood Red Label are just some of the labels that took advantage of this incredible range, via lead stylist Mark Hampton, the Global Hair Ambassador for TONI&GUY Hair Meet Wardrobe.

Matthew Williamson: This label’s style was glamour, exhibiting a simple and glossy look that resembled the 70s jet-setter. Hero product? TONI&GUY Hair Meet Wardrobe Glamour Volume Plumping Whip. This product adds volume and body at the roots and gives flexible texture and movement to the entire style.

Todd Lynn: This label went with a creative look for their hairstyles, with a fierce, rough and rebellious attitude. Hero product? TONI&GUY Hair Meet Wardrobe Creative Style Spray Wax. Spray wax? Yes! This stuff creates definition and texture and it totally perfect for achieving defined layers in any kind of hairstyle. Simply spritz through towel-dried hair and scrunch before drying—it works like magic.

Vivienne Westwood Red Label: An animalistic inspiration with a touch of glamour is the way this label worked their styles down the catwalk. The look was all about chaotic, voluminous waves of hair that were wild and free. Hero product? TONI&GUY Hair Meet Wardrobe Glamour Volume Plumping Whip. This gave the hair ferosh texture and achieved that incredible bed head-meets-jungle-woman look we’re all totally craving now!

    London Fashion Week @boraaksu

HeyDoYou is in London for the first time attending London Fashion Week. We got invited to the Bora Aksu show a London-based boutique store originally from Turkey.  He says his main inspiration for the Spring 2013 collection mainly came from Queen Victoria’s grand-daughter, Marie, who became the Queen of Romania in 1922. Apparently she mixed in a lot of Romanian culture without breaking away from her British-ness. Everything has a story.

They had some awesome headpieces going on here! Bora says the floral designs came from the love Marie had for her botanical garden in Balchik. Check out my faves:

London Fashion Week is held at the Somerset House this year, right by Covent Garden. it’s a huge space full of pretty people. It basically looks like one huge cool club that everyone wants to be a part of. There’s about a million line-ups for a million things, so you have to ask around to make sure you’re waiting at the right spot. This is England after all, ti’s all very polite. No jumping the line!

Of course, we can’t get through fashion week without some celebrity snap shots. Playboy model Kelly Brook was right in front of me!

That concludes the fun and games for now. Until next time! Cheers, @missamandachen

Fred Butler Uses @MinxNailsDotCom at London FW S/S 2012

On September 18th, Fred Butler presented his Spring/Summer 2012 collection during London Fashion Week using custom Minx Nails to enhance his already vibrant collection. Bulter collaborated with UK nail stylist Marian Newman and Minx Nails co-founder Janice Jordan to create a nail coating to fit with his theme of little underwater sea creatures.

Using MinxLusion, the team was able to add little fins and gills to the nails to create gorgeous whimsical nail fashion. Each of the four models sported different customized nail styles for the presentation. Check out how amazing these nails looked!
