Event LOVE: @WMCFashionWeek Funtimes pt.1
Fun times with some of our favourite bloggers, media and fashionistas during World MasterCard Fashion Week ss14 World MasterCard Fashion Week strutted into town with so much fabulousness that it swept us off of our stilettos; leaving us with a plethora of awesome memories, and seriously lusting after some of the pieces that we saw on the runway/studio!
The volunteers were amazing this season! The weather was terrible this season, but that didn’t stop us from coming out to play and reconnecting with our favourite fashionistas! The tents were buzzing with fashion talk, the Ritz Carlton was serving some delicious macarons and apple cider, there lots of hugs and kisses from all the men and women connecting and reconnecting while they excitedly waited to see the shows, , did I mention that everyone was dressed so nicely?! We also got to catch up with some of our favourite fashion blogger friends as well as make new ones! It was a fantastic day one!

Event LOVE: Last day of @CPFW2013
Canada Philippine Fashion Week (CPFW) fabulously strutted into town with all the glitz, glamour and culture that anyone could hope for a couple weeks ago. Due to my work schedule, I wasn’t able to go to all the events, but I made sure that I was there to celebrate the last of CPFW. There. Was. No Way. That I was going to miss it. What was great about this event is that I got to see pieces from the collections of all the designers up-close, as well as meet some of the designers, which was awesome! It’s different to see clothes on the runway, but when you get up-close you get to see all the clean finishes, the intricate details, you get to feel the fabric… it was great!
GOTSTYLE was the perfect place to celebrate the last day of CPFW Toronto 2013.

Event LOVE: @StylistBox FW13 VIP Preview
We were recently invited to attend the first seasonal VIP Preview of one of our fave PR ladies’ (Gail McInnes) new baby, Stylist Box, and we simply adore her so there was no way were going to miss it! We got to hang out with some of our favourite bloggers/fashion editors/fashionistas while perusing the beautifully decorated showroom which is located in Toronto’s trendy Dundas West neighbourhood. The room was FULL of the latest fashions and accessories from some of Canada’s hottest brands such as Genevieve Lima, Lucian Matis, Laborde Designs, Masha and more. You know how I do, I was oohing, aahing and trying on EVERYTHING! It was wonderful!

Event LOVE: @CPFW2013 Press Conference
I didn’t know what to expect when I walked into the Museum Room of the Shangri-La Hotel, for the Canada Philippine Fashion Week (CPFW) press conference. I’ll be honest and say that I thought it would be a whole lot of boring fashion talk, that we’ve all heard before but… It was the exact opposite. Instead I found myself going from happy, to inspired, to sad, then back to happy. This is probably the most touching event that I have ever been to. I was so inspired by Jeff Rustia’s story about how Canada Philippine Fashion came to fruition, how it was once just an idea he wrote on a piece of paper, to something that has already caught the attention of people all over the world, and it hasn’t even happened yet. I was moved, and in tears by the story of his late son, and how he continues to keep his son alive, through everything that he does. Ugh, it was beautiful, heartbreaking and inspiring all at the same time.
This is the first Canada Philippine Fashion Week, and it will make it’s fabulous debut on Monday June 10th, and will run until Saturday June 15th, and it just so happens that also during the Philippines’ Independence Day on the 12th June! CPFWis a non-profit organization that’s aimed at showcasing fashion, culture, creativity and artistry of Filipinos in Canada and in the Philippines. This week long event is committed to creating fundraising events that will help children through the Kol Hope Foundation for Children, which will serve as the beneficiary of the inaugural launch of CPFW.

We can look forward to six days of dazzling Filipino fashion, culture, and entertainment, a spectacular array of Filipino performances, film screenings, live music, a series of events happening in several incredible venues like the Roy Thompson Hall and TIFF Bell Lightbox, and of course fashion shows from top designers from Canada and the Philippines. Sooooo exciting!

Event Love: @FitzroyBoutique #WeWantSpring Party
We’ve been having some CRAZY weather these last few weeks, and we’re not the only one’s who noticed. The ladies of Fitzroy Boutique, Julie and Angela have also had enough of this silly weather, and invited us for a fun night of cocktails and shopping their latest spring/summer pieces over at the BYOB Cocktail Emporium; in hopes that this will sway mother nature into giving us some sunshine and warm weather! Due to the chilly weather, I wore a onesie and a leather jacket to the event, but once I entered BYOB it felt like summer; the room was warm and buzzing with all the laughter, everyone was smiling, there were pretty summery outfits both on and off the racks, and the dj was playing some pretty sweet tunes!
It’s safe to say that I loved everything that they had on display. There was just so much good stuff, and if it wasn’t for these bills, mama would have a brand new wardrobe!! Either way, I had a great time, I sipped some drinks, snapped some pics, connected with some pretty awesome people, and got nailed by the ladies of Pinky’s Nails. T’was a good night, it was a beautiful summer night, even if it only lasted until the party was over 🙂

Event LOVE: @GUESS Fall 2013 Collection Press Preview
Last week, the lovely Kayla and I attended the private GUESS Fall 2013 Collection Presentation for Woman over at Soho House in downtown Toronto.
I liked quite a few pieces from the collection; we all know that I’m all about bright colours, and majority of the collection is dark colours. However, it’s dark done right, and if I’m gonna wear dark colours, I’m gonna wear them like this. I loved the leather shorts, the quilted leather sleeves on the dresses and the jackets, the cute purses… oooh and the jacket with the fringe detail! I loved that! Once we viewed the collection, it was time to enjoy some drinks and treats, and catch up with some old friends, as well as make some new ones 🙂
I’ve never owned anything fringe so I was surprised by how much I liked this jacket!
