    Sad Pig

I was sad today to see this on Spadina 🙁  This pig was once a coveted and loved prize at some carnival that everyone once wanted.  They probably spent tons of $ trying to win it, then winning it and making some girl very very happy.  And now, time passes and it’s nothing but a spectacle. How sad.  It made me think of things I use to love and no longer do. It made me think of childhood BFF’s that you wouldn’t trade the world for and now you barely talk – even on Facebook. It made me think of all the “I love you” and “forevers” that were no longer true.  It made me think of the brevity of life and how important it is to cherish every minute of everyday. It made me think how much I think, just from seeing the world around me.

    Shine Junkie Lipgloss

    “it’s like icing, cupcake kisses”

Staying glossy is uber important to me. I am fussy when it comes to the consistency (not too goopy), the pigment (not too sheer), the feeling (not too sticky – ew MAC lipglass) and the smell (not too fake) when it comes to lipgloss. I think I found the one. The true love, the match made in heaven, the one that makes my heart sing! BED HEAD SHINE JUNKIE LIPGLOSS in SORBET.

BED HEAD TIGI is well known for their unique hair product packaging and the product that is the real deal. Irreplaceable and can really do the job for the funky ‘do’s. TIGI are products that I swear by and makes my life that much easier. I have been using their products religiously since I first discovered them back in 2005.

This, I cannot live without. I put it on my hair damp after the shower and blowdry it! It’s like some Rumpelstiltskin magic!

Anyway, the tried and true product that I just got my hand on is the BED HEAD TIGI Shine Junkie Lipgloss in SORBET. They don’t sell it anywhere in Toronto. NOWHERE. I haven’t been able to find ANY BED HEAD COSMETIC at Toronto Salons (only hair products).

This gloss is high color (amazing pigment), non sticky and doesn’t make your lips peel. Very addictive, creamy formula and is the must have for Spring and Summer 2009. My good friend from UK has brought me a case of them because of my addiction… They are exclusively and only for HeyDoYou readers. [Buy ONE NOW] I have only a limited supply and when they are gone, they are gone. The color is Sorbet. It is does not have glitter, it’s a creme lipgloss with an overdose off shine. It almost has a lacquer finish – there really isn’t another gloss I can compare this to, it’s like cupcake icing for your lips.

It is completely wearable for a fresh day look or night out with the girls. The shine factor is insane… mirror shine, cupcake kisses. Let me know what you think!

I am pretty sure the closest color to this is PANTONE 812 M or #ff5f71 in web colors ^_^

    Basil Seed Drink with Honey

I am always thirsty for cool new things. When I went grocery shopping in Chinatown in Toronto, I found this drink for $1.79. It’s so weird!

Then I did a quick Google search and found a lot of posts on this! Speaking of gross, this blog that talked about the drink is TunaCupCake.com(barf emoticon). Haha! The Basil seed drink with honey comes in cans and bottles and tastes really good. The texture is sort of like aloe vera bits and reminds me of my childhood favorite drink Orbitz.

This is a Thailand original drink, Nam Manglak.

    (Photo from Kate Raynes-Goldie’s Flickr)
    Ingredients wise, there isn’t much:
    Basil seeds
    Water
    Honey
    Salt
    Sugar

it has around 255g of sodium lol and 25g of sugar. lol who would have thought.

This is an unusual cold Thai drink available in cans, but here we make it fresh. It looks like frog spawn, but don’t let that put you off, those little gelatin lumps with black centres are actually Thai basil seeds. Thai basil has a smaller leaf than you see in Italian cooking, but the seeds are widely available. When you add water the seed swells into small soft balls and these give an unusual texture to the drink. The traditional flavouring is rose water, but you can flavour it with vanilla or peppermint essence if you prefer, or try adding the seeds to Iced Tea for tea with texture!

If you try it, let me know what you think!

oh ya, here’s some of the ‘health benefits’.
♥ Increases movement in stomach/intestines so that you digest faster; more active
♥ The basil seeds sucks toxins and fat then increases bowel movement
♥ Bowel movement increases toxin/waste removal which promotes healthy, beautiful skin
    ♥ Burns calories
♥ Decreases consumption of sugar level and cholesterol
♥ After meals, it decreases glucose level and control “blood sugars” from rising
♥ If you consume sugar, it will cover the sugar content so your body won’t absorb it which lowers sugar levels
♥ It prevents heart attacks, heart strokes and other heart diseases
    ♥ Reduces “blood fat” density
♥ Good for people with diabetes and controls weight
♥ Ok so basically when you eat basil seeds, it’s kind of sticky, so it tends to stick to the walls of your digestive system, and when you intake food, it reduces the chance of your digestive system absorbing cholesterol, fat, sugars, etc. because the basil seeds won’t let the food touch the walls etc.

WEIRD AND YUMMY. JUST THE WAY I LIKE IT
