For today’s Music eh! I bring you Burlington’s Sandman Viper Command.
The band is set to play at Edgefest this July 9th, alongside artists like Rise Against, Tokyo Police Club, The Weakerthans and more. Before taking the Edgefest stage, the band will be going on an extensive national tour to celebrate the release of their new 7-inch, “Rough Love”.
I like the songs “Oh Yeah, It’s Fusion” and “The Best of Plans”, you can listen to them and more on their myspace.
“Rough Love” was recorded with acclaimed producer Jon Drew, and will be released on March 15th digitally and off-stage. The 7-inch will feature some of the band’s most mature work yet.

LUMINATO Press Conference and Concert
Dublin to Dehli! I heart you guys… for real. If you’ve never seen these guys perform, you MUST.
I had the pleasure of attending the LUMINATO press conference and concert at the Roy Thomson Hall, yesterday morning. I also had the priviledge of interviewing the CEO of LUMINATO, Janice Price, and her team. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised to find out that the CEO OF LUMINATO is a woman.

Where I come from women don’t normally hold the position of CEO, as some corporations still believe it’s a “man’s world”; thank goodness things are starting to change for the better with more women becoming CEOs of major corporations. I say this because I’m always excited when I meet women that are doing amazing things with their careers and breaking stereotypes or “rules” that have been placed on women. So to meet a “Madame CEO” that’s doing big things; well that just about makes my day.

Dehli to Dublin was there to give us some of that feel good music, and it definitely wasn’t what I expected. I was totally BLOWN AWAY by this band. I was so blown away, that after their performance I insisted that I become a member of the band. I hope they know that I took those smiles, nods and even a yes as confirmation that I am now a band member. I’m just playing… but really.

For this segment of Music eh! I bring you Negar. Thanks for sharing this with us girl!
About Negar:
“My whole life has been dictated by my surroundings. I was born in Tehran, but had to leave at an early age because of war and revolution. I grew up splitting my time between Abu Dhabi and Canada. This obvious divide between cultural traditions, and most importantly, the wide spread repression I witnessed throughout the Middle East sparked a desire to explore myself creatively, which led me to music.”– NegarCheck out her first EP on her bandcamp, and you can also download the song “A Woman” for FREE (I like this song ). Music eh! The Junction
It’s time…for…Music…ehhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
Melissa from audioblood media was kind enough to share some news with me about one of their bands, The Junction; and now I must share it with you. The band is set to embark on an eastern Canadian tour, and recently premiered their new video onAUX TV for their third single “Level With Me” which comes off their album Another Link in the Chain. The video was directed by Davin Black, and has already been added to Much Music and Much More Music.
These guys… SERIOUS skills.
I’ve listened to “Level With Me” and watched the video a number of times already, and I got that tingly feeling. I like the song so much that when it comes to an end, I think it happened too quickly… Anyway the video is so fun, and the song just makes you feel so good you can’t help but sing along. If you haven’t already watched it, you need to do so now. Trust me.
I think The Junction were the perfect choice for the first Music eh! What do you guys think?

Music eh!
Everyday I get at least 5 emails about new Canadian artists, bands, concerts etc. Sometimes it takes me a while to listen to all the music in order for me to give a proper review, as a result I’ve deprived you of some goodness. Yes, I know, I’m sorry. But let’s be honest, everybody has different tastes in music so it doesn’t really matter what I think right? Sometimes people like the same music, sometimes they don’t. I listen to ALL kinds of music, anything that moves me or gives me that tingly feeling of excitement is good with me. I’d rather share the music, video etc with you when I receive it that way we can all take it in together, as well as give feedback. So in order to show my appreciation to all the people that have reached out to me; I’m introducing a new music segment called “Music eh!” Feel free to recommend a different title, but for now it is what it is 🙂
The segment will feature links to exclusive downloads, concerts, new artists, bands… pretty much every thing that is, the Canadian music industry. Again feel free to comment and let us know what you think as it’s a good way to give the artists feedback, and gives us a chance to engage in a little conversation.
