Not only is this a monumental occasion for Canadian Hip Hop as well as the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences (CARAS) but it will be a huge day for our city. Drake is hosting the 40th Anniversary – 2011 Juno awards in no other Canadian city but Toronto.
Hip hop in the T.dot is hosting Canadian music!
We could never say this man hasn’t done us more than proud and doesn’t continue to inspire us to be and do more!
Major love and congratulations to Drake, we are so excited for the show!
Juno Week 2011 will take place March 21-27
The awards show takes place on Sunday March 27th at the Air Canada Centre

Music for ya: Sweet Thing
Soooo WHO is Sweet Thing? They are a five piece band from Toronto, that came together 3 years ago, and have been gracing us with their own “unique and infectious” brand of pop music ever since. Toronto stand up! Ha ha ha, you know I had to. They recently released a music video for their song “Change of Seasons” and I’m totally LOVING it! I woke up feeling kind blaaah this morning, but by the end of the video, all I wanted to do was dance!!
Owen Carrier (lead singer), Alex Last (guitar & backing vocals), Nick Rose (guitar & vocals), Morgan Waters (bass & backing vocals) and Tyler Kyte (drums). These guys are the awesomeness that make up Sweet Thing.This video is soooo FUN! Had me wishing I could hit a rewind button or fast forward depending how you look at it, and summer would be here once again! I was totally digging the miniature instruments and huge blow up microphone! I love when artists enjoy and have fun with their music, instead of being so damn serious! WATCH IT NOW!!!Tis the perfect song and video to get your weekend started!!!

I love meeting talented people that are still so down to earth! There’s a huge amount of love and trust between these guys.. had me feeling like I wanted to be part of the band! lol (I’m down if you’re down lol)Thanks again to Scott, Christian, Liam, John and Brian, you guys are AWESOME!
YOU MUST WATCH BOTH VIDEOS!
Even though I was exhausted, I wasn’t about to miss my very first Steam Whistle UNSIGNED last Friday night, and oh-my-g**! F **king AMAZING! Excuse my French, but I had chills running up my spine, goosebumps, everything, because the music was SO GOOD. The bands? Out of this world! I was on the verge of tears of joy a number of times during the performances. Don’t ask my why, all I know is that my soul was definitely very happy; hence the tears. My heart damn near exploded when Five Star Trailer Park performed, and don’t get me started on Rachel Hamilton and The Funnel Cakes. Ketch Harbour Wolves were the perfect ending to a very busy day!Believe me when I tell you, we haven’t even come close to grasping just how MUCH talent there is in Canada. Let’s support each other, and let the world know!!!Shout outs to Miss Betty Dang and AudioBlood Media for organizing everything!
