About Midnight and the Meaning of Love
Powerful and sensual, Midnight is an intelligent, fierce fighter and Ninjutsu-trained ninja warrior. He attracts attention wherever he goes but remains unmoved by it and focuses on protecting his mother and sister and regaining his family’s fortunes. When Midnight, a devout Muslim, takes sixteen-year-old Akemi from Japan as his wife, they look forward to building a life together, but their tumultuous teenage marriage is interrupted when Akemi is kidnapped and taken back to Japan by her own father, even though the marriage was consummated and well underway.  Midnight must travel across three countries and numerous cultures in his attempt to defeat his opponent. Along this magnificent journey he meets people who change him forever, even as he changes them. He encounters temptations he never would have imagined and takes risks that many a lesser man would say no to, all for the women he loves and is sworn to protect.  Midnight and the Meaning of Love by Sister Souljah was released by Atria Books on April 12th.  For more information and to read an excerpt from the novel please visit: http://bit.ly/ebtfIX

    Audrey Magazine (Los Angeles)

I went out last night with my girl Arali to check out the Audrey Magazine fashion event. We missed the fashion show and the giftbags. ha ha ha.. But it was still a great time!

Top tier tickets were $100 a pop and the event was sponsored by an open bar by Ketel One and Stella Artois.  Not too shabby right?

I wish I knew why they were so excited to have me there.. Then I realized that Audrey is actually a huge Korean fashion magazine for Asian women. Um. how fitting, here I am reading Suede, YRB, Bossip and YBF ha ha.

    Rock em Edelmans
    Designers and Fashionistas

The event was teeming with well dressed Asian girls with long flowy black hair and expensive purses. There were also a slew of pretty boyfriends who carried their gf’s purse and superficial convo with ease.

    Watercolor dresses!

I saw my favorite twins! Miss Rebecca Stylewithbenefits and Miss Melanie WreckedStellar

and I met my new buddy Kyle… He is a Cancer. *wink*

    Pasadena Rosebowl

The 2nd Sunday of every month is an exciting time to be in LA!

Here is my ticket – $8

There are numerous flea markets in Los Angeles and treasure hunting is one of the best things you can do if you are an avid shopper. Sometimes the proliferation of chain stores can make you feel like its deja vu every single mall you enter. So this is absolutely refreshing and a great date venture too!

These are pitcher plants, they catch flies!

You can really test the patience of your date. I went there last week with one mission in mind. A leather duffel bag for travel.  Along the way I found a lot of interesting goods.

    These toy dogs are freaky

    accessories for days

As you know, I went to Pasadena Rosebowl with my dad when he came to visit in April… So 2nd time round, there were some repeat vendors but all in all – a great way to look into the past so we can confidently stride into the future.

I realized a few things.. that the past matters just as much as the future does and I got inspiration and ideas for my make up line. (I am working on that always!) But I walked home with what I came for. Woohoo!
