(NY) Mysterious Guy #5
I went down to Church and Murray St last week to check out some amateur bands perform. The venue was cozy and intimate and most of the people at the event knew the members of the band. I was there because I was invited by le mystery guy. As I sipped my Guinness and thought about the music industy and about life – I couldn’t help but imagine what if. What if I was a band wife or a music groupie? What would my life be like? Travelling on a whim with my lover wherever he goes, always standing the crowd cheering and clapping. Secretly proud and in awe of his talent but also afraid and know all these girls want him. I thought about what it would be like to play a supporting role in a man’s life and not ever be center stage. I don’t think I can do it. The me I know always has a tall drink of water who is my arm candy for the red carpet. I can’t get use to it the other way around. I think then about Amber Rose and Kanye. How can she just be his girl when she has so much star power of her own? I think I will need a low key, behind the scenes guy in my life.Back to reality, where I am just at an event at a bar… You can go see him perform in New York this week. (NY) Beauty + Essex
The perfect spot for armcandy and rockstars. I went to this secret 20’s speakeasy-esque resto this weekend. Beauty & Essex is the love child of Chris Santos of The Stanton Social, the design firm AvroKo, Peter Kane of Happy Endings, and one of the co-founders of Tao and Lavo clubs.
For this special occassion, I debuted my lippie ‘Ain’t No Wifey’… What do you think?
It’s a ginormous 10,000 square foot restaurant, bar, & lounge that uses a pawn shop as a front. The ambiance is everything one would expect from such a ingenious combination: trendy, sophisticated, sleek and A-list worthy. The bathrooms were complete with a complimentary champagne bar (for bad dates!) and antique perfume bottles as decor. What a swanky place.
Everything on the menu is tapas size and made to share. Delicious. Beauty & Essex just opened and is definitely going to be a Lower East Side hot spot!

H.I.M is an acronym for highly interesting men for the purposes of this post 🙂 New York is full of ‘interesting’ people and it’s really funny how once you like one thing about them, there is a trickle down effect and you just keep liking them. I walked down the street today and say a sign that says Betray the Usual. My sentiment exactly. Introducing the first of the series! If my theories about life is correct, what you want, wants you too! I will never admit that I have a type but… I love H.I.M!

*True* But as an Asian girl do I like it that I am hotter than then latest Birkin bag? Why would I want to be the trophy Asian wife? I am not a commodity or am I? After a few weeks of using dating sites and a few years of random dating. I have come to this conclusion. I really love and want to be single with great friends. Real friends and not conditional bullshit pseudo relationship where I upgrade you and you exhaust me. I use Facebook. I love to see how I am really good and predicting the future. Especially how many a suitors who tried to convince me that I was the perfect (asian) girl for them… But their recently Facebook photos prove otherwise. Well, what I can say, its the smartest people who recognize patterns the fastest. And I think I see one. All my friends date asian girls. I’m serious. So get your asian girl…BUT listen to me when I tell you I ain’t her.
