Unwittingly Transported To The Future, One Man Must Determine The Fate Of Time Travel Itself In The Timestream Verdict, a Bold New Sci-Fi Novel By Jordan Berk Debuting Today
When a time-traveling jury is summoned to rule on the first-ever case of time-travel murder, they must reach a verdict on the nature of time itself.
This is the riveting premise of The Timestream Verdict, a bold, original new sci-fi book written by first-time author Jordan Berk and debuting in print and e-book September 10 by IngramElliott Publishing (http://www.ingramelliott.com/
timestream_verdict.html). Thought-provoking, tinged with humor, mystery and action, rich in characterization and a genuine page-turner, The Timestream Verdict is certain to delight fans of time travel novels and legal thrillers alike.
Tackling the mind-bending complexities, potential world-changing ramifications and confounding ethical quandaries associated with time travel, The Timestream Verdict not only spans several fiction genres, but finds an inventive new way to tell the classic story of an ordinary person thrust into extraordinary circumstances that is certain to resonate with readers of all interests and backgrounds.
Copies of The Timestream Verdict can be pre-ordered now via Amazon, Barnes & Noble, IndieBound, Apple iTunes, and – as of September 10 – may be purchased in select bookstores nationwide.
A Time-Travel Crime Calls For a Time-Travel Jury
Aaron Barnett falls asleep as an ordinary 1980s accountant and wakes up sixty years later as a juror for the trial of the century. As he soon learns, the utopian society of 2042 is grappling with the murder of the legendary scientist deemed the ‘mother of time travel.’ And only this jury of inadvertent time travelers is equipped to reach an impartial verdict.Once the shock of his situation begins to wear off, Aaron finds the world of the mid twenty-first century to be a paradise. Far removed from his monotonous life, he savors the advancements and luxuries that the seemingly idyllic future has to offer.
Unfortunately, Aaron’s initial euphoria is shattered once he uncovers the complicated, hidden truths behind time travel, and realizes that his own past, present, and future are suddenly at risk. Because the harsh reality is that Aaron and his fellow jurors may be ruling on far more than a lone case of temporal homicide. They may be delivering a verdict on the very nature of time itself.
Commented Jordan Berk, “I’m so grateful to IngramElliott for the opportunity to contribute to my favorite genre of fiction, and to follow in my father and grandfather’s footsteps as a novelist. Being a lifelong, avid reader and watcher of time travel books and films, I feel like this is the story I was always meant to write.”“We knew instantly that Jordan was a rising star,” said publisher P.E. Calvert. “The premise of The Timestream Verdict struck us immediately as a fresh take on a beloved and familiar genre. We loved following along with the characters as they encounter this incredible new world and our entire team resonated with the humanity that Jordan brought to the science fiction genre. We immediately saw its potential for adaptation to film and TV.”
In this regard, the company will soon begin actively exploring opportunities to develop The Timestream Verdict into a theatrical movie or television film.

Modern-Day Morticia and Gomez Addams Reveal Odd and Macabre Artifacts in New Book Releasing in Time for Halloween
In The Witch’s Door: Oddities & Tales from the Esoteric to the Extreme (Chronicle Prism; October 1, 2024; Hardcover; ISBN: 978-1797229584), Ryan Matthew Cohn and Regina Rossi, trendsetting tastemakers in artifact collecting and founders of the Oddities Flea Market, welcome fans of curiosities (and anyone simply curious) inside the bizarre business that brought them together and introduce some of the unusual stuff and eccentric people they’ve encountered while doing what they love. The result is an engaging mix of memoir, exposé, how-to guide, and curated tour, filled with jaw-dropping photographs and unbelievable-but-true stories of exploded skulls, wax penises, and lots more.
Through Ryan and Regina’s wild adventures in artifact hunting, gathering, assessing, haggling, collecting, and curating, readers will discover:
- How Ryan uncovered a treasure trove of Kapala skulls wrapped in a dead missionary’s underwear—and how Regina strolled through airport security, rocking a monkey skull necklace.
- The ancient history, meticulous craft, and the key to telling a genuine shrunken head from a knock-off: pay close attention to the detail in the ear.
- How a vast collection of anatomical wax antiques stashed in a basement in Munich made its way to Brooklyn’s celebrated House of Wax—after considerable care and shipping costs.
- Why determining the provenance of any artifact or artwork is so important, if challenging, to avoid being scammed into investing in something stolen, illegally exported, or fake.
- The work of established antiquarians, like Billy Leroy of Billy’s Antiques, and quirks of serious collectors, like Nick Parmesan, retired NYPD sergeant turned hoarder, who had valuable pieces—including an antique electric chair—buried under mounds of junk.
- The incredible memento mori collection of art dealer Richard Harris—and how, rather than being morbid, collections of death masks and skulls can help us come to terms with our mortality.
- Why collecting dolls can be rewarding and chilling—and evidence to support that two vintage Charlie McCarthy ventriloquist dummies in Ryan and Regina’s collection might be haunted.
