Beauty Essentials For a Flawless Day
As an on the go New York City gal, the most important lesson I’ve learned is to always carry fail-proof items for a put-together look, no matter what.
Whether you’re running errands, visiting family or simply are an on-the-go type of person, Here’s a 4 solutions for every problem you can run into on the day to day basis!
PROBLEM: Weak, Fragile Nails and Chipped Polish
SOLUTION: Chemical-free, chic Lauren B. polish and Dual/Base Top Coat
PROBLEM: Shiny and unbalanced skin

SOLUTION: Brightening and blurring primer from Lumene with Vitamin C and DDF Glycolic Exfoliating Oil Control Gel for exfoliated, radiant skin
PROBLEM: Dry, itchy scalp and ends from OD’ing on heat tools
SOLUTION: Philip B. Anti-Flake Relief Shampoo and Sun Bum 3-in-1 Leave in with Coconut Oil
PROBLEM: Humid weather and perfume that won’t stay on
SOLUTION: Cooling Philip B. Thai Tea Mind and Body Wash and Chai Latte for a scent that stays on your body long past after-hours

Beauty of the day: Pretty in Pink
I don’t know about you, but I’m obsessed with the pale pastel pink trend ever since I saw it on Carolina Herrera‘s Spring Summer 2016 runway at New York Fashion Week. So why not add a touch of pink to your beauty look? Check out my Pretty in Pink look of the day.
Eyes:
I used the new Maybelline New York The Nudes Eyeshadow Palette in Blushed Nudes – I used the shimmery baby pink all over my eyes, then added some of the darker burgundy around the crease. Then I lined my eyes with Eyestudio Lasting Drama Waterproof Gel Pencil in Sleek Onyx and blended it with a dark, shimmery burgundy for a soft smokey look. To finish it off, I added Ever EZ Lash Multipack by KISS in 03.
Lips:
Carolina Herrera’s girls had a soft matte pink, but for this look I wanted to try something different. I put foundation over my lips and then added a swipe of Baby Lips Moisturizing Lip Gloss Shimmers in in Tickled Pink. It’s super sheer and has a bit of a glimmer to it for a frosty edge – to make it a little less pre-school girly.
Nails:
Of course I couldn’t get away without doing my nails to match this look! I’m wearing Essie nail polish in Hi Maintenance. It’s super sheer and adds a soft touch of pink to complete the look!
And voila! What do you think of my pink beauty look? Would you try it? What other looks are you inspired to do?

Escape with the Body Shop’s Spa Of The World collection
So it’s back to school now and within just a few weeks I’m ready to escape! I’m so excited that The Body Shop introduced the Spa Of The World collection, bringing in the best exotic spa rituals from all around the world for you to explore, at home.
Oils of Life

I can’t begin to explain how much I love using oils on my face and skin. Although my skin is already pretty oily, facial oils have anti-bacterial properties that combat against breakouts and keep your skin clear. The Body Shop’s Oils of Life Intensely Revitalizing Essence Lotion is infused with Black Cumin seed oil from Egypt, Camellia seed oil from China and Rosehip seed oil from Chile. The unique oil and water formula makes it super light so you don’t feel like you’re wearing it at all. To finish it off, I add The Body Shop’s Oils Of Life Intensely Revitalizing Gel Cream. with illuminating micro-pearls. Slightly lighter than the Intensely Revitalizing Cream, if you’ve got normal to oily skin like me – it’s the perfect night-time treatment to stay moisturized all night long.
Not your regular bubble bath
This is the grown up version of a bubble bath you used to have with your rubber ducky. Rather than a gel or salt, the Egyptian Milk & Honey Bath comes in a power that turns into a skin-softening milk bath. Renowned as a beauty ritual used by Cleopatra in ancient Egypt, you’ll truly feel like a queen relaxing in this. I love how creamy this bath is, and it smells so yummy! My skin feels super soft after this.

Get TIFF glam with The Stylist Suite
It’s TIFF season again, and this year celebrities are invited to The Stylist Suite for exclusive pampering at The Trump Residences. Connecting Canadian designers with to celebrity stylists and personalities, The Stylist Box makes sure to get the top emerging Canadian brands their moment of fame on the red carpet. Open from September 9-12, 2015, you’ll be sure to catch some eye candy going in and out around Bay and Adelaide. Keep your eyes peeled for celebrity sightings!
Also for the first time this year, The Sty
list Suite is partnering up with Beauty Gives Back, the charitable initiative of the beauty industry behind the incredibly successful cancer support programs Look Good Feel Better and FacingCancer.ca. Visiting celebrities are asked to sign a five foot tall Big Love Ball, which will be later auctioned off at the charity’s annual fundraiser, Mirror Ball in November.Partnered with ReservedX, this fancy venue takes place in a stunning 5,000 square foot penthouse located on the 56th floor. How’s that for a view of the Six?

Designers participating this year include Andrew Majtenyi, Daymor Couture, Hilary MacMillan, Huntington, Ryan Alexander, and Zarucci, with accessories and fine jewellery from Atelier by MMCrystal, Caroline Neron, and Huntress. Visiting male celebrities will be outfitted by Finezza – Au nom de l’Homme with shoes and accessories by Parc City Boot Co. and jewellery from Neron.
Of course the Toronto-based womenswear line Narces is here, already famous with its many sightings on the red carpet. I even spotted the gorgeous gown Game Of Thrones star Maisie Williams wore to a London screening.
In terms of entertainment, there was a ping pong table provided by our lovely friends at SP!N Toronto and a selection of Niagara wine (unavailable at the LCBO). Definitely try out the online services at Pour Niagara for your next ladies night in.
Of course I couldn’t leave without a red carpet ready makeover. Check out my makeup by Emerald City Beauty Bar – stay tuned for my review of their launch party next week!
