Fight Off Frizzy Hair @nexxushair
I’ve never tried Nexxus hair products before so I was super excited when I received my Frizz Defy Shampoo and Conditioner.
The shampoo and conditioner will control frizz all day and give you the smooth hair you have hidden underneath. It will also help your hair if you use heat styling products.
Frizz Defy ShampooThese smell great, with Moroccan Argan Oil and Coconut Extract. The conditioner really leaves my hair feeling moisturized. These two will also help with humid days and if your hair is feeling a little dry like mine does sometimes. I also really like the Argan Oil in the products. As for the shampoo, it works nicely with my thick, long hair. My hair feels healthy, manageable and ready to take on the day! I can’t wait to continue to use these during the winter months…

TIGI recently released their newest hair care line, Hair Reborn, and I got to try it out!
First I learned about the new line at their flagship studio in SoHo…
TIGI Hair Reborn features highly concentrated ingredients that repair and protect the hair. The products are designed to leave even the most damaged hair smooth, healthy and frizz-free by using caring ingredients to restore hair to its natural, youthful state.
There are three different “journeys,” or collections of shampoo, conditioner and treatments for you to chose from based on your hair type ($30-$45):

I took home the Resurgence collection: Hydra-Synergy Shampoo, Hydra-Synergy Conditioner and Time Extend Moisture Lotion Take-Home Treatment. And the Rebuilding Wax, Restorative IlluminOil, Resurfacing Lusterizer, and Flexible Finishing Hairspray.
And here is the result…
I loved it! The shampoo and conditioner made my hair feel clean, but moisturized, and I really liked the scent. I’m partial to sulfate-free shampoos, but I felt this one was gentle even though it does contain sulfates.
The Time Extend Moisture Lotion has come to be my new best friend. It’s an instant shot of moisture as soon as it touches your hair and you only need a dollop. It made my hair smooth and tangle free.
I’ve mixed and matched the styling products, but my favorite it the Restorative IlluminOil. It’s great for adding shine and protecting hair from humidity.

Good Looks with @Joico
Hair product company, Joico, has created a fantastic product for my long, thick hair. I’ve been using their Moisture Recovery Treatment Balm, which is used to retain the moisture in your hair.
(8.5 fl. oz/250ml)My hair tends to get dry from genetics and the environment, so I love using this product especially if I don’t have to use it daily.
Some of the ingredients include Hydramine Sea Complex, murumuru, olive and shea butters – no wonder this product leaves your hair soft, shiny, & healthy! 🙂
It’s recommended that you use it 2-3 times a week so the bottle lasts for quite some time. All you have to do is apply some of the product to damp hair, leave it in for 5 minutes, and rinse (I leave it in my hair longer because I love how soft it is afterwards).
I will definitely continue to use this product as it doesn’t leave my hair greasy, and it smells great on top of leaving my hair smooth and moisturized.

Ouidad, the self-proclaimed “Queen of Curls,” specializes in hair products especially for curly manes–from loose waves to tight kinks. Anyone with curly hair knows that our tresses need a special kind of love. They can be unruly, tangled, dry and entirely unmanageable if not cared for properly. That’s why I love companies that cater to our special needs. Ouidad in particular is great because they have a wide range of products for all types of curly hair.
I treated my hair to a three-step process, using the Climate Control Shampoo, Deep Treatment, and Climate Control Conditioner (in that order).
- Climate Control Shampoo ($18 for 8.5 oz): The sulfate-free shampoo gently cleansed my hair without stripping its natural oils. The Humidity Shield Complex provides a barrier against heat, humidity and environmental factors.
- Deep Treatment ($50 for 8.5 oz): I slathered on the intensive, protein-rich conditioner, put on a showercap and then wrapped a (microwaved) hot, wet towel around my head and covered it with a plastic bag. That way I could chill out and check some emails for 12 minutes as the moisture-rich formula penetrated my hair.
- Climate Control Condition: Following the directions, I applied this conditioner on top of the Deep Treatment and then rinsed it out. Packed with amino acids, it infuses strands with hydration, leaving curls smooth and manageable. (Tip: if you use a protein condition, it’s important to follow up with a moisture-rich condition)
RESULTS: This routine drastically increased my hair’s moisture level. I don’t think I will be going back to my old shampoo and conditioner. My hair has been very manageable and very resilient to this annoyingly humid days we’ve been having. Ouidad knows how to make curly hair happy.
I would definitely recommend it for straight and relaxed hair, too.
