Magic Mushrooms
I’ve been eating A LOT of mushrooms lately, and couldn’t help but wonder if there were any health benefits associated with this yummy… fungi. Turns out all mushrooms are loaded with essential nutrients like selenium (good for the bladder), iron, antioxidants, vitamins B2 and B3, potassium, they also increase the production of antiviral and other proteins that help with repairing body tissues and enhancing the immune system.

Event LOVE: Spirit of Dance
On Monday evening we joined Tré Armstrong at The Spoke Club to celebrate the launch of the Tre Armstrong Give Back Foundation; a not-for-profit operating foundation. Despite the on and off drizzles, tons of people gathered on The Spoke Club patio to show their support for Tre. We were treated to yummy appetizers, drinks, a Just Dance station, and some live performances.
“The foundation will focus on developing life skills through enjoyable youth programming and performing arts at the community level alongside educational classes and seminars, promoting continued learning along with the development of key life and social skills.”
Thank you so much to Tré Armstrong for inviting us!

Soy Soy GOOD
I love these things. Every time I go to Metro (grocery store), I clear out their shelves. Yeah, they are that good.
I was super hungry, and all I had was some left over coconut curry rice, half a red pepper, some sliced mushrooms, grapes, half a cucumber, and these soy bites. So I put two and two together, and BAM! Pure deliciousness 🙂

Wannabe FRESH
So after my yummy dinner at Fresh on Spadina, I couldn’t stop craving that damn Energy Bowl; so I took matters into my own hands and made something similar. My version included a chickpea & lentil curry, spicy coconut curry rice, cucumber, tomato, red & green peppers, craisins, and tzatziki sauce. YUM.

Obsessed with Fresh
I recently had dinner at Fresh (on Spadina), and have since become obsessed with their “Energy Bowl”. Marinated tofu cubes, coconut curry sauce, chick pea & vegetable stew, cucumber, tomato, red onion, sunflower sprouts and tahini sauce, on a bed of brown basmati rice. Mmm Mmm MM, and I don’t even like Tofu, but I ate those bad boys right up! It is so delicious; it took all of my power to stop myself from licking the bowl clean. Yes.
If you haven’t been to Fresh yet, you need to GO. Take a look at their menu 🙂
