    Fun @FoodFete NY @SomersaultSnack @jonessodaco @earthboundfarm

I went to Food Fete this week to preview healthy snacks and foods new on the market. It was delicious, well attended and really well organized.

Do you know all the cool things you can make with California figs? Yum. They are an excellent source of fiber and they contain potassium, calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, copper, manganese! Hard to match by any other fruit really.

These Hemp Milks are sensational in smoothies and perfect for anyone who is lactose intolerant or want to rid diary in their diet

You can put Hemp Hearts in your breakfast, yogurt or even smoothies (like i had this morning!)

Lately, I have been nuts about Pecans and the way they taste in salads with strawberries and goat cheese.

Somersaults are the new snack that are salty in just the right amount made of sunflower seeds. They taste so good and is a perfect pairing for tea, coffee or even beer.

Jones Soda has a new drink! I’ts Jones Soda Au Naturel. Only 35 Calories. Amazing!

Seems like someone at Earthbound Farms heard my prayers and pureed all the things I need for cooking and never end up using in a tube that lasts 3 months!

Can’t wait til the next Food Fete in June!

    Falafel Republic

I had a falafel for the first time in my life last year… It’s made out of chickpeas and is a good meat replacement. At the Snack Attack I had the chance to try this microwaveable and easy to prepare ones. Falafel salads are yummy and healthy. I vow to eat more of these this summer! 🙂

    NEXT GENERATION FALAFEL

NEEDHAM, Mass. – Products today are likely to thrive when they join the technological revolution, even food. At the forefront of the digital trend is Falafel Republic (www.falafelrepublic.com), which is adding a new QR code that can be scanned with mobile phones to direct users to the company’s promotions, news and recipe ideas. An extension of Falafel Republic’s heat-and-eat convenience, the new bar code now allows supermarket shoppers to gain instant access to a healthy, fun way to spice up dinner.

Popular for its convenience and nutritional value, Falafel Republic has consistently listened to and exceeded the demands of the public. First, they stood out as the healthy falafel, high in protein and fiber, gluten-free and low in calories. Next, they were the first to bring the 4,000-year old, long-loved, to-go meal to supermarkets across the country. Now, they’re responding to the evolving technological climate by delivering strategic convenience through a tool that the modern world has proven to find increasingly beneficial. Developing electronic brand connections is ushering in a new era of consumer ease and Falafel Republic is ahead of the curve by bringing it to us today.

Greg Bukuras, founder of Falafel Republic and innovation leader, said “We are very excited about adding a digital component to our packaging. Falafel is an authentic, healthy and filling food that top chefs like Bobby Flay, Emeril Lagasse and Guy Fieri have not been shy about exploring. We plan to keep our product as versatile and fun as it’s been recognized for in the past.”

In both Traditional and Roasted Garlic flavors, Falafel Republic is now the first and only falafel available at BJ’s Wholesale Club, Shaw’s, HEB, Roche Bros, Wakefern, Big Y World Class Market, DeMoulas, Stop & Shop and other grocery stores.  The new 6 oz. package will be available soon in retail locations with a suggested retail price of $3.99. Look for the Falafel Republic display in the deli section alongside hummus and other Mediterranean products.
