Since then, the band has released a string of successful original songs including “Red Hands” (#1 at AAA), “Fire In My Soul” and “Rule The World” (both of which went platinum in Canada); sold out venues across the globe and collaborated with some of the biggest artists in the world (Keith Urban, Snoop Dogg & Steve Aoki). In addition, they’ve won a “Group Of The Year” Juno Award and appeared on television shows such as Good Morning America and Ellen.Recently, Walk Off The Earth’s cover of Maroon 5’s “Girls Like You” was nominated for “Best Cover” by The Streamy Awards, which honor the best in online video and the creators behind it. The annual event brings together the biggest names in YouTube and online video for a night of celebration, discovery, and meaningful recognition. This is the band’s second consecutive nomination in the category, having previously been nominated in 2017 for their cover of Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You.” After a summer spent on the festival circuit in their native Canada, as well as Europe, Walk Off The Earth return to the US in November 2018.WALK OFF THE EARTH US TOUR DATESNov. 1 – Orlando, FL – House of BluesNov. 2 – Charleston, SC – Music FarmNov. 3 – Atlanta, GA – TabernacleNov. 4 – Nashville, TN – Marathon Music WorksNov. 6 – Charlotte, NC – FillmoreNov. 7 – Raleigh, NC – The RitzNov. 10 – St. Louis, MO – The PageantNov. 11 – Indianapolis, IN – Egyptian RoomNov. 13 – Austin, TX – StubbsNov. 14 – Dallas, TX – House of BluesNov. 16 – Houston, TX – House of Blues
Foodies (and lushes), it’s that time again… The Village Voice Choice Eats tasting event is taking place March 25, 2014!
I’ve been a fan of Choice Eats for years now and each year it keeps getting better! Imagine this: 80+ restaurants under one roof, plus complimentary beer garden and wine and liquor pairings, all for one price. I’ve always loved Village Voice’s tasting events for a few reasons: amazing food, great venue, music and a great crowd. Even in the years I’ve gone solo, there are always awesome people (all in jovial spirits, of course) to chop it up with, literally!
This year I’ll be back to cover it and I wanted to make sure to get the word out about this not to be missed event. VIP tickets are sold out, but you can still purchase general admission tickets for $60 online or $70 at the door. This event is always sold out, so I would strongly suggest pre-purchasing unless you want to risk missing out.
A plus is that while you’re stuffing your face, you’ll be supporting a great cause: Slow Food NYC, the New York City chapter of Slow Food, a non-profit, member-supported organization founded in 1989 to counteract the culture of fast food.

FLIPS Audio is taking music from SOLO 2 Social. They come in 3 colors + 1 limited edition and can be found on flipsaudio.com and Wal-Mart. What makes them different? They become “speakers” when flipped! What a cool concept.
As you know, a good pair of headphones make a world of difference. They can take your music experience to new heights when you get into all the dynamic sounds the beat and layers of vocals. Needless to say I was excited to give Flip Audios a go. When first opening the box I discovered a protective case for travel or storage with a zipper on the side. They were nice enough to make me feel like I would enjoy the rest of this experience.

What kind of music do you like?
Not that we’re partial or anything, but everything about “flips” is different. Revolutionary, in fact. We like saying that because it’s true and, well, you only get to say that once…and only if your product really is revolutionary – breakthrough. That said, let’s take a look at the design. Flips are cool, comfortable, eye-catching, with clean lines and a solid build…no “cheap plastic” feel like some headphones have. But here’s the revolutionary part, flips give you a stellar listening experience in 2 modes: solo and social. (via Flipsaudio.com)
The headphones are studio sized cans that can collapse on either side of each arm (allowing you to store them easier.) The material of the headphones that rests on your ears is of noticeably good quality and seems to be very durable. The headphones fit very comfortably on and have a good sound as well. The volume adjusts high enough to drown out all sound around you.
The best part now….when you flip both headphones outward while you have them around your neck, the volume automatically turns up and they turn into travel speakers. The travel speaker battery can be charged by connecting the headphones with a USB on your computer. The portable speaker is louder than I imagined and filled up my living room enough sound to comfortably listen to. These headphones will be a nice companion while traveling, I can see them coming in handy on a plane, in a hotel room or while out at the beach…with the headphones on sometimes and the portable speaker mode on sometimes. Solo 2 Social!
If you are looking for new headphones and need portable travel speakers – you can both with FLIPS. It will definitely make packing for trips easier and a bit lighter.
The ultimate his and hers gift!

Brooklyn’s Lucius have just released one of the best albums of the year, “Wildewoman”. I preordered the record after seeing this live performance of a song that would soon become one of my favorites on the record, “Turn it Around”.
My shiny new vinyl arrived in the mail at just the right time. While home sick from work, I was greeted at the door with the package I had been waiting for– Thank you, Mr. Postman!
Because I scored the preorder, the cover of my record was signed by the entire band– neat! The package also included a Lucius lollipop to compliment the artwork and general vibe of the record. You see, Lucius’ sugar-sweet dual vocals are accompanied by a solid band of classy and talented gentlemen, combining to create a modern day girl group a la The Ronetttes. The result is a perfect pop record capable of making you smile at any given moment.
Other standout tracks include the emotional heartstring-pulling “Go Home,” an epic tale of escape in “The Two of Us on the Run” and the catchy title-track, “Wildewoman.”
Lucius’ debut album is out now in the US and Canada. Get it on vinyl or CD: http://po.st/wildewoman or on iTunes: http://po.st/wwitunes. For tour dates, mailing list and more: http://ilovelucius.com/
If you are from Toronto I’m sure you have seen and heard about the wild concert/rave at Downsview Park this past long weekend. Over the weekend there was Caribana, Drake’s OVO, and EDM Veld music festival. It was the 2nd year for the festival and last year attracted over 50,000 fans and some of the top DJs around the world including Toronto’s Deadmau5. Here are some pictures from the festival, was it better than Caribana and OVO? What do you think?
We got to hang out the VOCAB C0-Ed Gifiting Lounge, which celebrated the 5th annual Art of Music Video Gallery Exhibition and it was so much fun. The weather was so nice, everyone was happy and laughing, the vibe was RIGHT. I loved bumping into some of my favourite people, as well as meet some new ones; it was a good afternoon. We were given an opportunity to check out an exhibit that showcased imagery from the NE Creative Group’s (who were nominated for 11 awards at this year’s MMVAs by the way) favourite video archives. Some of the featured imagery came from directors like RT!, Cazhhmere, David F Mewa, Davin Black and more. The gifting lounge also gave a number of brands a chance to get their products into the hands of Canadian and American celebrities, directors, publicists, producers, stylists, tastemakers and trendsetters during the MMVA’s.
chilling by the F*CK CANCER booth!
Love me some pop chips!
Mary Kay was in the building, and I was pleased to discover that they actually have an extensive and impressive collection of men’s products.
Always a pleasure running into Tika!
Fun times! Ree ree looking gorgeous as usual!
Thank you so much to Chrissy and the whole VOCAB Communications team for such a great afternoon, I’m so looking forward to the next one!
