The Secret World of Arrietty @DisneyAnimation
A beautiful movie that is great for everyone in the family! The ‘Borrowers’ take things from humans that they will not miss. Like a tissue or a cube of sugar. Arrietty is seen by a young boy who is ill and learns to be friends with humans against her parents wishes. The best and my favorite part is when the cat meows oh-so-cutely at the end!

My Weekend With Marilyn

The burden of being glamorous and sexual
Undoubtedly one of the most beautiful film stars of all time, Marilyn Monroe isn’t exactly what we all know of her. I saw this movie this weekend at BAM Rose Theater and I loved it. Michelle Williams was stunning and the movie told the story about the starlet who was more afraid to be alone, was nervous and had lots of self doubt. She overcompensated her insecurities by being ‘Marilyn’ the character and lived her life like a movie. I can definitely relate to her. A lot of times, people see you in a certain way and you feel the need to play into it. But when the disparity between reality and fantasy gets too big and the gap gets too hard to fill, it becomes really dangerous. Moral of the story? Be who you are, a bit of both and all the time.

Twilight Makeup via @KJBennettBeauty

If you are looking to get her look… Follow @KJBennettBeauty
I went to the press screening of Twilight last night and I would give it 3 outta 5.
The first 10 mins was so emotional and had me in tears but then it quickly turned into more of an SNL skit to me. Terrible CG and awkward conversation left me going errrrr. The best part was the house in Rio and the “fetus” – “baby” – “possibly” line. Â They told us to check our mobile phones but they forgot to tell us to check our common sense at the door too : / Forget EVERYTHING you learned in biology class. The audience was excited and there was lots of cheering before and after the movie. The movie doesn’t end when her eyeballs go RED so stay in the theater and watch that extra 5 mins! The only reason I realized this was because I forgot my umbrella.

Womp womp. You can wait for the DVD.

New Movie: Drive
The Drive Movie 2011 brief: Danish director Nicolas Winding Refn (BRONSON, THE PUSHER trilogy, VALHALLA RISING) throttles into the Hollywood fast lane with precision-crafted crime caper Drive. Ryan Gosling stars as a Los Angeles wheelman for hire, stunt driving for movie productions by day and steering getaway vehicles for criminal operations by night. A loner by nature, Driver can’t help falling in love with his beautiful but vulnerable neighbor Irene (Carey Mulligan), a young mother dragged into a dangerous criminal underworld by the return of ex-convict husband Standard (Oscar Isaac). After a heist operation, intended to help Standard pay off protection money, spins out of control, Driver finds himself driving defense for the girl he loves, tailgated by a syndicate of deadly serious criminals (Albert Brooks and Ron Perlman). When the gangsters reveal that they’re after more than the bag of money in his trunk—that they’re coming straight for Irene and her son—Driver is forced to shift gears and go on the offense. DRIVE was written by Hossein Amini, adapted from a book by James Sallis, and produced by Marc Platt, Gigi Pritzker, Michel Litvak, Adam Siegel and John Palermo; executive producers are David Lancaster, Gary Michael Walters, Bill Lischak and Linda McDonough. What did I think? I think this movie definitely made you feel something. That ‘something’ is tension, nervousness and true empathy for each character. Maybe Gosling’s character was in the marines or the army in his previous life? That could explain his oddly quiet nature and finesse with weapons. What do you think?
