Aetrex Concept Flagship Store Grand Opening & VIP Party

On Thursday, June 2, I took off my super uncomfortable $10 flats and got my feet scanned at Aetrex’s new flagship store in Englewood, N.J.

If you like shoes from GEOX or ECCO, you’ll definitely enjoy the shoes here at Aetrex. They’re very practical and ridiculously comfortable. If you’re going to be walking around New York City all day long, you better invest in a pair — it’s totally worth it.

But this store is way more than just a shoe store. “The store will feature state-of-the-art interactive technology that will bring people one step closer to a healthy and active lifestyle by matching them with products designed for their specific needs,” said Larry Schwartz, CEO, Aetrex. This awesome Aetrex’s iStep Wave machine shows you if you have flat, arched, narrow or wide feet. In my case, I was slightly narrow. It measures foot size and determines arch type and pressure points in less than 30 seconds.

If you’re a shoe fanatic like me, you’ll really appreciate this extra factor. Aetrex is also renowned for its over-the-counter Lynco Orthotics, the world’s #1 foot orthotic system. No more custom-made orthotics made only for athletes or the elderly. This is available for everyone!

Check out these seriously comfortable loafers I got! Visit www.Aetrex.com to get your own!

    Breakfast With @TooFaced

When Cate from Creative Media Marketing invited us to Gemma on Bowery for breakfast and bronzers, I thought it was a match made in sparkly heaven. The director of marketing Hallie Freeman and director of artistry Kalina Fernandez of TooFaced gave us a sneak peek for the highly anticipated summer collection. We got the summer goodies like Too Faced The Bronzed & The Beautiful – French Riviera Edition and Too Faced Retractable Bronze-Buki Brush 🙂

Created by the rebel artists Jeremy Johnson and Jerrod Blandino in 1998, they thought their clients were too into their makeup that they were ‘too faced’ in a way. I originally thought about being ‘two-faced’ in your ability to change your look, but in this case it was all about being too involved in cosmetics.

This obsession is another reason why all Too Faced products include a little ‘How To’ so you’re not so pressured in your application. We’re making it easy for you! This summer, they’re launching a new bronzing collection, with the major feature being a tinted primer that can act like foundation. Great for all skin types, it’s a hassle-free product you have to own!

There’s also the retractable Bronze-buki brush made out of teddy bear hair. I was advised that no teddy bears were harmed in this process, their hairs were donated out of the goodness of their hearts. So cute, right?

Two new volumizing lip glosses with Lip Injection are coming out: a fierce hot pink called ‘Chihuahua Bite’ named after the little office rascal and ‘This is Pretty!’ for a pink that works for every skin color.

Lastly, the most interesting thing is their new ‘Size Queen’ mascara. This is the biggest brush I’ve ever seen! It’s bigger than my eye! The dual-helix brush and keratin-infused curl-setting formula creates a lot of dimension and is corkscrew-shaped to target every lash. Only available in black, you better be ready to bat those lashes with this!

Check me out in this bronze beauty loot!

Fashion SCOOP NYC’s Fashion Week Kick-Off

I did something I never done before – I went to an event and just enjoyed myself.  Since the store was infiltrated with bloggers armed with Canons and Nikons – I took my time to talk and celebrate fashion with Tucked, Grungy and some new friends.  ScoopNYC is the lick!  I wore my 2BD necklace which was quite a hit and I brought my pal Jacob.

People are afraid of Jacob and Jacob is afraid of people. >_<

So here is how the txt messages went:

    Y: Can I bring Jacob

    J: Yeah I guess

    Y: How is it

    J: Picking up

So then I show up with my dog… and Justin is like… oh that’s Jacob?  Lol.. And then I went to go fetch 2 lime Belvedere gimlets

    Super Long Tongue

One of the things that really stood out to me this week during Social Media seminars is what one of the panelists said: Well isn’t fashion just one big insecurity. That really got me thinking about the values people place on fashion and the spectrum goes from ‘matters a lot’ to ‘it doesnt matter’. Of course in a room of NY’s finest, everyone skews to the left – and everything matters a lot to them from head to toe. The one thing I really noticed what how nervous Jacob was. Usually dogs pick up the energy of those around him. If that was true, we were in a room with the best dressed anxious folks. Nevertheless, the party was a great turnout and the Belvedere drinks lubricated the conversations.
