Blue Jays LOVE
A few weeks ago, a yummy tanned man, walked into my work, and this is how the conversation went…
Me: How come you’re so tan, and it’s not even summer yet? (At the time, Toronto wasn’t hot enough for him to be that tan)
Him: It’s because I’m from Miami.
Me: Oh, so what are you doing in Toronto?
Him: I work at the rogers centre.
Me: Okay, doing what?
Him: Serving water
Me: * wondering when water boys got so damn cute* Okay well have a good day.
Him: *laughs* and leaves.

After he left, my co-worker runs up to me, and says, “Oh my G-d, do you know who that was?” The expression on my face was a clear indication that I had no idea what he was talking about. Long story short, it was Toronto Blue Jays catcher, J.P Arencibia. The next time he came into my work, I didn’t hesitate to call him out on his lie, and told him the only way he could make it up to me; was to take a picture with me 🙂

Did you know? As of June 4 2011, Arencibia leads all major league rookies with 9 home runs, which is already a Blue Jays club record, surpassing the previous record of five, shared by Pat Borders (1988) and Greg Myers (1990).

(T.O.) GBC Art…Eat it!
Yesterday while getting my schedule set up, I noticed that there was lots of art on display all over the Hospitality Building at George Brown College. Then I noticed these big chocolate balls… naturally I had to go over and find out what was going on.
This is how I discovered the George Brown College “Almost Edible” exhibition. Fine Arts students at the college were asked to present their take on the old saying “art imitates life”. The exhibition features works that represent the look, feel and taste of food.
The exhibit came out of an assignment in which students were asked to depict the taste of a particular food by evoking memories associated with that food. These art pieces were inspired by a range of foods, for example fruits, veggies, pastries, beverages etc. In total there are 32 abstract paintings and 12 sculptures on display.

(T.O.) Did you ever?
Random thought, do people really cheat during exams? I always remember being very afraid of cheating, I simply couldn’t bare the embarrassment of getting caught! I’ve been in exams and witnessed people get caught, and it’s not a pretty sight. Just imagine, paper is torn up, everybody has that “oh sh*t” expression on their face including you, AND you get a big fat ZERO for that course!
It’s funny to watch but I’ll pass on that one. I remember sitting in the lounge at the school I’m currently attending (no name dropping) with a bunch of people, making “cheat notes” because we hadn’t studied. Yeah yeah whatever ha ha ha. But then I was always too afraid to use them, and would just throw them away. I want to be done with school as soon as possible, so I’ll be damned if I’m stuck re-taking courses or suspended/expelled cause I got caught cheating. No ma’am.
