    Hairgum

When I first saw hairgum, I was so excited to see what it is all about. In tins similar to shoe polish, there is a range of products for all hair types.  Styling products are so tricky. Since I was born with bone straight Asian hair, I never had to tame curls or cowlicks – I am such a wash and go kinda girl.  But since learning about Hairgum and what it can do for my short ‘do – I became a true fan!  They range from different finishes like matte or glossy to different holds like strong, texture, movements etc… Best of all, everything is moving towards organic ingredients, process and certification! It smells good and it works.

    HAIRGUM

Jean Marc FERT, Founder and CEO of Ariland Laboratory since 1998, has always heavily involved in the network professional hairdressing. His will benefit from 10 years of experience in the professional circuit and put his expertise to the largest number by offering a range of products at once professional and the most natural possible. Our first requirement was to eliminate all forms of our chemistry. Our second imperative: Ecocert certification label and cosmetics.

    Short Locks ROCK!

“He likes girls with long hair” she said as she dipped the warm pita into the disgusting spinach dip. I couldn’t believe this attractive, intelligent, on-top-of-her-shit, with a dope personality young woman was speaking these words. But I TOTALLY understood where she was coming from, as I have had my own “he likes girls with long hair” “dilema” and I say “dilema” because 1) I could’ve cared less, I’m not a girl, but a woman. 2) I looked great! lol. 3) It’s MY hair *singing It’s My Prerogative my Bobby Brown*. lol. But I digress.

To my fellas, would you REALLY have a dumb, broke, broad with long hair over an intelligent, sexy, on-top-of-her shit woman, that rocks a short do? For those that said yes, I can only say Good luck lol. For the rest of you, you get 2 thumbs, and a big kiss from me for being able to recognize a true woman for who she is and not how she wears her hair.
Granted short-dos aren’t for everyone, but neither are long ones. Personally, I felt a little restricted with my long hair, plus it was time to try something new… 18 years with one hairstyle was long enough for me.
A man saying he’ll only be with a woman that has long hair, is like a woman saying she’ll only be with a six pack aka no pot bellies allowed. I’m jus saying…

    Kanye likes it…

If you find you’re interested in a hair cut, but are afraid men or society won’t find you attractive or accept you, all I can say is that you should have BIGGER FISH TO FRY aka Get your mind/money RIGHT and If you and your hairstylist think you can rock it, then just do it! Besides, it grows back… So if there’s a woman out there that you’re feeling, but you feel her short hair just won’t do; dump the video girl fantasy, get outta your own way and get to know miss lady 🙂 You might find you like what she’s working with, and that, that short hair only complements the greatness that she is 🙂
    blessings!

    Blonde Asian

Dolly Parton once said…”I’m not offended by dumb blonde jokes because I know that I’m not dumb. I also know I’m not blonde.” That’s funny. I was walking on Richmond on Friday and a sleazy club promoter smirked at me and said, I like your hair blonde. I replied: I’m a natural blonde. When I was in NY, most people think I am Japanese because I wear my hair light. I am Chinese (Shanghai + HK). What do you think?

full Japanese, not Japanese (Yvonne), 1/2 Japanese (Kimora)

    Wikipedia says:
the date of the genetic mutation that resulted in blonde hair in Europe has been isolated to about 11,000 years ago during the last ice age. Before then, Europeans mostly had black hair and eyes, which is predominant in the rest of the world.

Yay, I want to be a mutant.

Celebs like Eve can change her look all the time, she is truly a style chameleon! Why is she so fabulous! Rapper/singer Eve is one of my favorite style icons. I don’t know what she has been doing lately, but from her last video Tambourine, I can say that I definitely love her blonde the best. But… What about me?For some people, changing their hair color is an earth shattering experience… for people like me (and Eve!) we love experimenting! I often change my hair color because 1, I participate in hair shows as a hair model. 2, I like to switch it up based on my mood. 3, I sometimes just want to match an outfit or a certain look I am going for! Am I crazy? I don’t know. My hair is not damaged at all, maybe a little dry. I think the blonde me appeals to my Gemini side: fun loving, adventurous and bold. My black hair is more of my Cancer side: emotional, introspective and passionate. I am a cusp, so can I have both? My brown hair many people love the best, it’s… well, kind of typical to me. My red? Like all fashionistas lament, doesn’t last because the vibrancy washes out. Sigh. I am currently blonde.

Here is my hair routine: I use Garnier everything.

    and I style with

    shortsexyhair Frenzy bulked-up texture

    and Schwarzkopf Osis+Thrill fibre gum

and Schwarzkopf Osis+ Magic Gloss serum before I blow dry

It’s great to be a blond. With low expectations, it’s very easy to surprise people!

    New Do, New Hue

So a few days ago.. i was thinking man my hair’s getting really long!

A year ago (2008 April) I did the ABA in Toronto with Paul Mitchell and went from
    this:

    to this!!

Cutting my hair short has be so liberating! You have to try it at least once in your lifetime. Then throughout the year, I experimented with Reds and Blondes

Anyway… I was at Aveda today from 9am-5pm.. We did some color correction and brought my hair to a level 8 blonde…

then to a desert storm ash

    I think I love it!

Being a hair model is NOT for:

    • someone who clings on to their hair to define their look/personality style
    • someone is is afraid of change and will cry if something goes not exactly as planned
    • anyone anxious or timid
    • someone who has no hair, hair/scalp disease, severely damaged hair

Being a hair model is for:

    • someone who is broke & fabulous (hello, recession?)
    • someone who wants to help hair styling students practice on real people
    • a confident person who is versatile and likes to switch up their look
    • someone who is tired of having the same hair style since 9th grade

As long as you have an open mind and want to have a top grade hair cut & color for (free!)… do what I do! If you have any questions, ask me!

If you want to be a hair model, participate in hair shows and take your look from a ‘Idaho’ to a ‘NYC’…
