Event LOVE: Oh Hey Versay! – #VersayOnTap Launch @GroupeVersay
If you follow me on Twitter, Instagram and/or Facebook, you would’ve seen that I was having soooo much fun at the Versay On Tap wine event last night. It was a packed house over at Rock Lobster over on Ossington Avenue, as we celebrated the VIP launch of Versay wine, Ontario’s first wine on tap. The evening featured 8 different types of Versay wines on tap (I tried them all, they were all wonderful!), as well as (too die for) seafood appetizers from Rock Lobster. The event was FAN-TASTIC! The wine was so good; it was easy to drink, and tasted really good.
Jerk shrimp and a delicious glass of Bieler Pere et Fils Cuvee Stellie Rose 2012
I guess a lot of us think that wine won’t be as good if it comes in anything other than a bottle, but I was pleasantly surprised. The wine was great; I’m not expert, but I’ve had some really expensive wines and dare I say the Versay wines were better? Yes.
My favourite wines of the evening were the:
- Bieler Pere et Fils Cuvee Stellie Rose 2012, Coteaux D’aix En Provence, France
- Gazerra, Pinot Grigio 2012, Sicily
- Mamma Mia Chardonnay Grechetto 2010, Umbria, Italy
And the food… lawd the food was paired perfectly! Don’t even get me started on the jerk shrimp and lobster rolls… HEAVENLY. My favourite thing about serving wine of tap, is that it’s environmentally friendly; there is no waste, so the stainless steel kegs are all reusable!
This Lobster Roll RIGHT HERE!!!?
Jean Francois Bieler and Matt Dean Pettit (Owner and Executive Chef of Rock Lobster)- I also got to chat with founder, Jean Francois Bieler… well more like gushed about how much I was enjoying the wine 🙂
Always fun times with Telly and Carcia!
party people 🙂
Thank you for a wonderful evening Jean Francois!

We love Meg!
Rock Lobster has AMAZING food! If you’ve never been, you NEED to go!
“No Waste. No Spoilage. No Pomp. That’s why it’s a ‘NO’ party”
It really was a wonderful evening, great wine, amazing food, good music and lovely people; you really can’t ask for more, and what an awesome way to kick off the week!
Thank you so much for inviting us, I had an amazing time!
peace and love

What She Wore: Recap of @WMCFashionWeek #ootd
I get really excited and frustrated when World MasterCard Fashion Week comes around, because I have no clue what to wear lol. I’m excited for all the fashion goodness, but when it comes to dressing myself, I’m a total wreck. This season, I did what I always do, BRIGHT COLOURS. I figured people won’t really notice how nice, or not so nice your outfits are, when there are nice and bright colours to distract them lol. So my approach this season was keep it simple, and O.D. on lots of colour, prints and head wraps. As for my make-up, I chose to keep that simple as well; clean face, winged eyes, and a burgundy lip. I planned on wearing my fro out this season, but the weather was crazy honey, so that wasn’t happening! Here’s what I wore during 5 of some of the the most fashionable days in Toronto 🙂
DAY ONE
I had just gotten off work, and I was exhausted. It was cold outside, and I was feeling blue… I was also late so I had to think quickly lol
Headwrap: H&M | Dress and Earrings: Forever21 | Vintage Blazer: Black Market | Shoes: Jessica Simpson | Bangles: Costa Blanca
DAY TWO
The mustard and the camo headwrap just seemed like a good idea… and as long as the colours were popping, I was cool with it 🙂
Headwrap: Holt Renfrew | Vintage Blazer: Black Market | Dress: H&M | Shoes: Aldo
I had the day off and the chance to take a long and glorious nap, so I was feeling more fashion week-y on day three! Plus, this jumpsuit was TIGHT when I first bought it, so you can only imagine the JOY I felt, when I put it on and it fit! I had to rock it!
Headwrap: It’s a pashmina 🙂 | Vintage Jumpsuit: Black Market | Shoes: BCBG MAXAZRIA | Bangles: A market in Accra, Ghana

The “Big Red Bow” was a hit during fashion week, and this is the first time I’d ever tied my headwrap like this. Success!

I was feeling fun, flirty and girly, so this dress was a natural choice!
Headwrap: H&M | Earrings: Forever21 | Vintage Silk Dress: Black Market | Bag: Steve Madden | Wedges: Aldo

I really didn’t know what to wear for day five, I was tired from all the shows and events, and just needed a nap; but once I remembered that I had this dress that I bought in the UK almost a year ago, everything fell into place 🙂
Headwrap: Black Market | Earrings: Forever21 | Dress: Miss Selfridge | Shoes: Aldo
There you have it! What do you all think of my choices?
Stay fly!

Event Recap: @WMCFashionWeek Days 3, 4, 5, and everything in-between.
So fashion week came to an end on Friday, and as sad as I was to see it go, I was also extremely relieved lol. I could finally give my feet a rest, and my afternoon naps could pick up where they left off… I kid 🙂 I was really excited for this season, I guess missing the last season, had me craving all the wonderful streetstyle, and of course; I couldn’t wait to see what this round of designers had in store for us.
What did I think about World MasterCard Fashion Week F/W2013? Hmmm…. It was nice. Honestly, I was exhausted by day three and there seemed to be a certain je ne sais quoi missing this season. I didn’t bother filming any of the shows after day two because everything was going to be online anyway, and let’s be honest the quality of IMG’s video is way better than mine 🙂
However, despite the exhaustion I loved catching up with and meeting Toronto’s fashionistas, and I’m always inspired by the designers who show their collections. I wasn’t thrilled by majority of the collections, but I’m always inspired by the courage that these designers have to show their collections, to hundreds of very picky and very fashionable fashionistas 🙂

This show was my life!
My highlights this season?
- I LOVED Korhani, Bustle gave me life, and PAVONI? PAVONI took my breath away!
- I made a few best dressed and beauty lists, which was kinda flattering I can’t lie 🙂 Thanks to GLOW Magazine, Fashion Magazine, BlogTO, and everybody else that made this lil girl feel a lil special 🙂
I always think my liner looks a lil off so this was very comforting lol 🙂

- I got to catch up with my fellow blogger fashionistas who were all looking beyond FLY honey! *two snaps*
- * The street style. Despite the crazy cold weather, Toronto fashionistas were not going to be swayed, because they BROUGHT it through wind, rain, snow and shine!
There was a great deal of black on the runway this season… I’m a sucker for bright colours and bold prints so all the black leather, fur etc. obviously this wasn’t my thing, but I will say that all the collections were really well made, and the attention to detail was ON POINT. Two very fashionable thumbs up.
I can’t wait for World MasterCard Fashion Week S/S2014 because there’s bound to be lots of colour! Woohoooo 🙂 A big congratulations to all the designers who showed this season, I can only wish I had even half of your courage to follow my dreams!
Until next season 🙂
Stay fly!

I was ooh-ing, aaah-ing, and trying my best not to look a damn fool by drooling over this collection! I loved it!
Congratulations on a fantastic collection!

I was gutted that I missed the show, but I definitely fell in love with a few pieces from MIZ by Izzy Camilleri.
Here are some of my favourites.
I love houndstooth, I love leather, I love fur, I love bold pieces of clothing that still maintain a delicious portion of femininity. I loved this collection.
Happy Fashion Week-ing!

Super FUN Times: Shopping The Store with @_CostaBlanca
I got a lovely invite to “Shop The Store” from Costa Blanca recently, and finally got to go in on my day off. I haven’t been to, never mind shopped at Costa Blanca in ages, so I was pleasantly surprised to see how bright, and colourful their clothes are now, plus there’s so much selection. The Costa Blanca I remember had lots of neutral colours, pastels and a lot of the same stuff year after year. But things done changed! I saw lots of neons, floral prints, tribal prints, cute flowy skirts, colorful maxi dresses, gorgeous onesies, oh it was fantastic! Totally up my alley. Things have definitely changed for the better.
decisions decisions…
I was in loooooove with this maxi!
These bangles were giving me LIFE!!

lol the face…
After scanning the aisles (yes all of them), I finally picked a few items and went to try on different looks. After what seemed like an eternity of trying on clothes (totally not complaining, I loved it!) I finally settled on a turquoise maxi dress, a cute neon yellow sweater, and two sets of awesome bangles. The best part about it? I got to take my look home!
Thank you to Costa Blanca for having me, and for the lovely gifts! If you haven’t been to Costa Blanca in a while, I suggest you go because it has some… no A LOT of awesome and amazing stuff!
peace and love
