    Toronto Frocktail Party 2012

The 4th annual Frocktail Party was a huge success with more than 600 guests who came out to support the JDRF. This year’s event had a record breaking auction – nearly doubling the previous years raising $30,000. The Frocktail Party 2012 raised a total of over $55,000 which brings the four year total to nearly $150,000.

Some of this year’s auction highlights include a custom suit from Garrison Bespoke taking the title of highest selling item, Suzanne Rogers Marchesa gown was the highest selling dress and the Smythe blazer donated by eLUXE sparked a major bidding war.

Notable guests from the evening were Suzanne Rogers, Johnny Hockin, Tommy Ton, Stephen and Kirk from Greta Constantine, Jenna Bitove, Ainsley Kerr and John Muscat from Line Knitwear and Fashion Blogger Jay Strut.

Sad I missed the #NewEraIntroducing Project event! @new_era_TOR

I feel like majority of the awesome events happen when I’m traveling! Last night New Era introduced Toronto to the “creative minds of tomorrow” through a unique gallery experience, showcasing up-and-coming talent from across North America. I wasn’t able to go, but Twitter was buzzing with tweets about all the amazing New Era 59FIFTY caps!

A little about the New Era Introducing Project.

New Era Introducing is a global creative project that was launched by the brand’s EMA branch, and aims to give unique, up-and-coming talent an opportunity to make their own artistic statement using a blank New Era 59FIFTY fitted cap as their canvas. The top 100 artists were given a blank New Era 59FIFTY cap and asked to transform it into a distinctive work of art and capture the creative process behind their design,  detailing it’s birth, creation, experience and influences.

Here are some of my favourites from the exhibit!

Congratulations to all the artists on a job well done! And thank you to everyone who tweeted and instagramed pics of all the awesome hats!

Event LOVE: Girls Night Out with @FlirtyGirlTO

The 8th Annual Flirty Girl Night Out Party was a couple weeks ago, and just like every other year before it, this one was also super fun times. T’was a night of complimentary cocktails, “melt-me” massages, yummy finger foods (seriously yummy), hairstyling, make-over sessions, decadent desserts, provocative performances and MORE! Event LOVE: Hailo High-Tea Launch @HailoToronto #HailoIsHere

I went for a high tea at the Windsor Arms Hotel to celebrate the launch of HAILO in Toronto and oh-my-gawd it was glorious! I was picked up by a bright yellow HAILO cab, then dropped off at the Windsor Arms, where I joined a few others to hear all about the awesomeness that is Hailo Taxi Service. A lot of information was given, but what really stood out to me, was the fact that Hailo Taxi Service has introduced a new level of safety and security when it comes to taking a cab. I’ve never liked taking cabs and I blame that on all the horror/thriller movies I’ve seen concerning psycho cab drivers… but I like the fact that when you order a HAILO taxi, you get the picture and name of the cab driver, and company has a record of the driver, the time the taxi was ordered, destination, time of pick up etc. WIN.

“Making taxi heaven. For passengers and drivers. Nice.”

HAILO Taxi Service is a licensed cab company and is already a hit in London (England) and Dublin. They have a smartphone app that allows you to “hail” a cab wherever you are in the city, you can track where the taxi is and how long it will take to arrive, and then receive a push notification once the cab has arrived. AWESOMENESS.

    Choose your tea 🙂

    fun times 🙂

I couldn’t take my eyes off the treats!

The Big Wigs!- Jay Bergman, Justin Raymond, Russell Hall

Strawberries and cream… and champagne. YUM.

Lovely hanging out with you ladies 🙂

All the way from London, U.K.!

    les noms

    sooooo GOOD!

    What I wore 🙂

    The taxi expert 🙂

Don’t forget to download the app (iPhone and Android users)! Hailo makes getting a cab easier and safer 🙂

After we got the goods on Hailo, we… well I went to town on all the desserts, pastries and treats while sipping on some delicious tea and champagne! T’was lovely 🙂

Thank you so much for inviting me!

    peace and love

    Event LOVE: @SecondCup Tasting

I’ve been busy packing to move across the world for the last few weeks, and haven’t had much time to be on here, but I’m back 🙂 So what better way to get back to things, than with a sweet and delicious post. A few of us gathered at the Second Cup on King and Jarvis to taste Second Cup’s new fall and holiday menu. I didn’t know what to expect, but I knew that it would be delicious. Second Cup CEO Stacey Mowbray, was there to talk us through the tasting, as well as give us some information on the new beverages and treats. I then went to town on the brownies and cupcakes while sipping on my toasted marshmallow latte mmmm…

Event LOVE: 9th Annual White #Cashmere Collection

I woke up really excited on Wednesday morning, and couldn’t get myself to the newly renovated Arcadian Court quickly enough to watch the 9th annual White Cashmere Collection. I’m always really excited to see this show, simply because I’m always blown away when I see how ordinary bathroom tissue, is transformed into beautiful fashion pieces. This year my mind was not spared, and was definitely blown. The show began with an awesome acrobatic performance, followed by some words from the host of the event, long-time supporter of the collection and breast cancer survivor, Canada AM’s co-host Beverly Thomson, and  then we got to hear the lovely Lolitta Dandoy’s touching story about how she survived breast cancer. Then it was time for the show!

    amazing.

What is the White Cashmere Collection? “It’s Canada’s annual celebration of Fashion with Compassion. A fund-and-awareness-raiser for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, in support of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation’s vision of a future without breast cancer. More than 100 Canadian designers have participated to-date!”

Rodney Philpott– “…sultry slit-to-the-hip sheath is crafted from BT “lace” and strewn from shoulder to the hem of its train with white flowers and petals.

Suhaila Niazi– “…delectable layer cake of a gown… complete with a pink ‘fondant’ bodice and tiered skirts ‘frosted’ with elaborate flowers and edged in beaded ‘icing’.”

Adrian Wu- “…great knotted and woven ropes that coil around the torso while its draped skirt balloons to the floor.”

LABEL– “…delicious, dangerously short dance dress… smooth strapless bodice with a frothy skirt created from layer upon layer of pink and white BT”

Lucci Rojas– “…delicate, painstakingly pleated and folded pennants of pink and white BT ‘fabric’ flutter to the knees where a graceful white floor-length skirt takes over.”

Golnaz Ashtiani– “…beautiful floral brocade effect from Cashmere BT ‘fabric’… with dramatic cone-like volumes…for the BT Couture Collection.”

Izzy Camilleri– “…party dress entirely constructed of hundreds of BT blossoms, in white Cashmere Envirocare.”

    love!!!

Laura Siegel– “…intriguingly draped and layered dress…textural interest by adding a chunky knit shawl.”

Joel Bissonnette-“…seductive thigh-slit, halter-neck dress features a slim, tiered skirt and a cheeky corseted waist.”

Cara Cheung-“…sharp shoulders, rhinestoned seaming, ready-for-anything short flowered skirt, and cape-like overskirt.”

    MY FAVE!!!!

Anomal Couture, Sonia Leclair-“…sensual cut-out gown…crafted from essentially linked lingerie elements.”

David Jack-“…aerodynamically sleek couture… takes flight with aileron-like peplums at the hips and a flowing BT fabric train.”

the train was giving me life!!

    the designers 🙂

The cuteness!! (the first ever children’s wear)

    lovely

    fierceness!

    love 🙂

    Lolitta Dandoy 🙂

    The eats!

    le fun times!

The White Cashmere Collection was curated by Canadian fashion designer Farley Chatto, and paid homage to Classic Hollywood Glamour. It was a lovely show, and I’m so happy that I was able to experience another year!
