    What Up With Joaquin?

While home sicky-icky, I stumbled across this flick on Joaquin Phoenix called “I’m Still Here” and couldn’t help but hold the channel… shot in documentary-style, the camera follows Joaquin (pronounced WAH-keen) and his battle with drugs after his announcement to leave acting and focus on a RAP career.

    Catch the official trailer…
I won’t spoil the film, but I will tell you that I couldn’t resist doing more research and (while it was totally worth watching) theres more to this story… First, I was literally in tears watching, as Joaquin Phoenix is an actor that I literally grew up with; my Mum and her friends were a huge fan of himself as well as his brother, River Phoenix, who’s tragic overdose was tossed across the media in the early ’90s. Truth is… the film is a mok-u-mentary that Phoenix and directing partner Casey Affleck created to explore famosity, the relationship of the media and the consumer by literally exposing the celebrity. This was done, under the awareness of very few people, to make it all the more real… and impactful!

    Toronto Film Festival 2010

More parties than you can ever imagine. Extended liquor hours til 4am. There is NO rest during TIFF10.

    Chloe girls

We stopped by Brassai for the Coty x Smashbox x Fuze x YouTube Lounge just for a quick hello, a ton of goodies and of course a few photos.

Then we were off to TCHAD’s exclusive gifting lounge. This is a new venue and the boys sure did bring out the stylish and crowd with discerning taste.

Thompson Hotel is all everyone talks about these days. The hottest party by far, with ALK aka Canadian Wang with all her stylish posse… Looking for that party? Just follow the studs, the sequins, the stylish svelte bodies and new definition of effortless chic.  Lashem was the beauty sponsor for the VIP bags at Blacklisted.  I even got a chance to chat with the beautiful Uma Thurman.

And guess what! It’s only Monday. More to come.

Marc Ecko Muse – Lyndsay Lohan

This is by-FAR one of the most incredible advertising approaches I’ve ever seen… After studying Advertising for three years at Sheridan, I developed a weird interest in new, odd & … advertising methods and Marc Ecko’s newest marceckomuse.com campaign has definitely caught my attention.

A holographic Lyndsay Lohan literally enters the room via your web cam!!! Augmented Reality (AR) web technology creates a “multi-dimensional, interactive experience” using a GLYPH marking (tracking code). This GLYPH mark has been printed on all of Marc Ecko Cut & Sew 2010 marketing material including look books, catalogues & the campaign website. Once logged on to the site & the GLYPH mark is flashed in front of a webcam… the ‘digital muse’ (Lohan) appears as a holographic advertisement!!! CRAZYYY!!!!

Ecko built this campaign based on the theory that humans have 8 advanced emotions such as, trust, fear, love and expanded on it… when the user clicks on one of these emotions the hologram of Lyndsay Lohan appears and acts out that emotion. I’m gonna get into it & see if I can make this work, so stay tuned, I’ll keep you posted within the next week.

    Wiz Khalifa

I picked up my girl the other day for a night out, bumpin’ my current favs and was heartbroken to hear her ask not only who the artist was… but then confused when I said the name too?!!! So I had to put it out here… if you don’t already know who Wiz Khalifa is, TAKE a minute and take him in! Hailing from Pittsburg and putting out hits since 2007, allllllll with mixtapes. His trending topic mixtape #kushandorangejuice is the most recent and the one that stole my heart . Of course his 2007 hit “Say Yeah” caught my attention BY FAR… but the tracks on heavy rotation for me are ‘Ink my whole body’, ‘Incompatable’, ‘Lose Control’, etc! etc! ETC!!!

Wiz Khalifa is scheduled to perform in Toronto
Sunday September 26 @ The Opera HOUSE
