JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort & Spa recognizes National Blood Donor Month in January and invites the community to its next Vitalant blood drive on Saturday, Jan. 13 and Sunday, Jan. 14 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom. With patients facing an emergency blood shortage, every donation counts. “We’re excited to celebrate all blood donors who make that first appointment of the new year during National Blood Donor Month in January. Donors of all blood types, especially type O and platelet donors, are needed daily to maintain an adequate blood supply for patients,” said Mike Doria, communications manager, Vitalant Nevada.
Donors who give during the community blood drive at JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort & Spa will receive:

- One 50%-off voucher to the Market Place Buffet at Rampart Casino for lunch, brunch or dinner.

Meet the Carman brothers and their families. Josh and Jason Carman grew up in Pennsylvania, graduated college and went on to establish their careers in finance and business. They are Christ-followers who enjoy the outdoors, sports, travel, food and spending time with family and friends. From a young age they have been active in sports and seemed to turn everything into a fun and competitive game. Flash forward a few years to 2020 and nothing has really changed! When many of us adjusted to the life of quarantine, Josh did what he has always done and created fun games out of nothing which is how Popdarts originated. After coming up with an initial prototype & establishing the game play, Josh & Jason set off on this journey with help from friends and family to make Popdarts what it is today.

On February 19th, 2019, tragedy struck as Nick and his wife Susie lost their beloved son, William, in a devastating ski accident during a family vacation in Big Sky, Montana. William was their first child.
In the days after William’s death, amidst the fog of deep grief, the phrase “my teacher, my son” came to Nick in a moment of clarity. In that instant, he realized that William had been teaching him powerful lessons since the day he was born. In his debut book My Teacher, My Son, these lessons find their way to the world at large.
“All three of my sons have pushed me to be a better person because of the lessons they have taught me. It’s ironic that I am learning from them so that I can teach them. I guess it’s what evolution is all about: a self-reinforcing positive cycle of learning – and love.”
