I happen to know some incredibly cute little mini’s, but English Rose, Sophia Grace is truly SOMETHING!!! Ellen had her on the show and Nicki cleared her schedule to be there! This baby’s pipes are incredible, check out lil 8 year old YouTube sensation Sophia Grace & 5 year old cousin Rosie sing with Nicki Minaj on the Ellen DeGeneres show! Love them!
Check out the original YouTube home video, currently sitting at 7,081,881 page views, that started her stardom
And I just couldn’t resist this one – Turn My Swag On by Keri Hilson
A very special friend called today and told me about this video… I’m not sure how I missed it’s premiere back in September, maybe because I’ve been so invested in the album!
During a major break-up, the simplicity and “realness” of Adele’s ’21’ album got me through and brought me out on the other side… more grown, with more wisdom and more strength. I remember, when I first fell for this song, wondering how the creative direction of the video would go… the words are so powerful… what approach would be taken? I think director, Jake Nava, did an incredible job of committing to the inevitable flaws of love, romance and heartbreak with the smoky black and white lens-view… in the quiet streets of Paris. What city would be better for a song like this? There’s no marital drama or agressive undertone of this video, it’s just the realness that I’m sure each reader of this blog has experienced… when the heart has built you up to a place that someone else disappoints you at. Someone like you is the finale track on the ’21’ album and leaves the listener with chills and thoughts to digest, Adele has an epic way of unveiling the emotions that we’d all love to keep hidden. The interesting afterthought is that in actuality, the artist Adele is full of beauty and bubbly personality… perhaps an example that ‘this too shall pass’ and that we are strong enough to encounter it all, even the depths of unrequited love . PS: I’m in love with that stellar Moschino trench; Enjoy this video!!! xo
“How do you get up from an all time low?”… this video has been out in England for almost a year at this point, but I’ve yet to hear it over here… lemme know if you have.

As I’m sure you have already assumed… with all the explicit tabloid coverage of Heathrow Airport… my journey home for x-mas has been a little more than eventful! The trip that was supposed to begin on December 19 was a whirlwind of cancellations that began on the 18th… fortunately for myself, a little angel at British Airways (who’s daughter I’ve been bff’s with since we were 4) made a first-class miracle and now I sit here blogging to you from Yorkshire, England!!!
Not only is there a snow issue in ‘The Queen’s country’, but there’s also an oil issue so I sit here, wrapped in Mum’s sweater and a red egyptian cotton blanky from Next, freezing my ass off as the oil is on back delivery for two weeks and Mum says we must be ration-al! *smh*
None-the-less, I wouldn’t ask to be anywhere else… Mum, my step dad (Chris) & my sister’s (Ava & Zoe) are out here and the baby in me can’t resist being with them for the holidays! So, I’ll enjoy updating you on all the things I love (and don’t) about my country and it’s culture… beginning with this…
as discussed with my girl Caitlin, before leaving, the typical food here is less than appealing. Don’t get me wrong, I love a bread-pud, curry gravy and mushy peas, as much as the next girl but there’s something gross about hopping off the plane in to the pub to have breaded and fried skampy, chips, camembert, meat pie and what seems like every other food you can imagine. Needless to say Mum also grabbed fruit, veg, chicken breast, turkey cuts and the rest of ‘my food’ (as she calls it) while at Tescos.
Current local time is 18:22 and Mum’s just put tea on the table (chicken, rice & carrots and mash), she and I are headed to Meadowhall tonight (one of my fav shopping cntrs here, I’ll be sure to twit pic for ya) to finish up our last min giffies… as it closes at midnight tonight! Fortunately for me, most of my gifts have been bought so topshop/selfridges/primark here I comeeee!!!
*HeyDoYou is for the cute, clever and connected*
- Translated to “The Red One”, the name La Roux, like this band is less than ordinary. More of a duo, the act is made up of 22 year old Eleanor Jackson who takes lead as singer, keyboardist, co-writer & co-producer as well as Ben Langmaid; keyboardist, co-writer & co-producer.
After being a part of many major European concert festivals to include Glastonbury & Leeds, they crossed their talents over to North America, with performances at Lollapalooza and Jimmy Kimmel Live!
Now, after multiple genres have digested the exposure, this electro/synth-pop duo is making a name for themselves in the mainstream markets with tracks like ‘I’m not your Toy’, ‘In For the Kill’, & newest single ‘Bulletproof’ (video seen below). Everyone from the rockers to the thugs can get down with La Roux’s sound, is it (in part) due to their urban-tied Brixton, London roots? My bias assumption is yes… but either way, their sound is like no current other & I am loving La Roux all day! xoxo
