    GENART LA

I went to my very first GenArt event last night and had a blast. I met all kinda fashiony folks.

The frenzy called the Red Carpet

For the last 13 years, Gen Art has produced its fall Fresh Faces in Fashion, and more recently its spring New Garde events, which are a kind of coming-out party for fashion’s debutantes, and which give emerging designers a chance to debut their collections to media and buyers. Showing at Gen Art can launch careers. How fashionably fun LA can be!

The venue was stunning and surprisingly large, the fashion was poppin, the complimentary wines were pouring and I said a courteous and quick hello to Miss Amber Rose herself.

LMAO at the PR girl who thought my friend Q was Ron Artest LOL… wow. I look so little lol

Here were my favorites of the night.

Rebecca Lee and Melanie Lee are totally cute and fashionable sisters

We weren’t allowed to take photos with her but there are plenty of them online.  She’s totally cute and smaller in person than I thought. Her outfit was.. okay.

    FIDM DEBUT 2010

Went down to the Barker Hanger in Santa Monica to watch a parade of talent… the FIDM Debut 2010!  I wore my Telephone inspired outfit and decided to never play it safe ever again.

It started with the showcasing of the 10 scholarship winners from Fashion Design that participated in the Guess denim competition.

    models x designers

Then the Judy Garland / Liza Minilli tribute pieces from Costume Design majors.

The show then showcased the collections rom the 10 students that were breath taking.

Dream Sequence collection from FIDM Design student Brittany My Linh Vu
    Knit Wear designer Julia Nish

I was sitting way back behind 20,000 people so sorry for the photo quality!  The thing I love about fashion, art and FIDM is that when you think everythings been done before you see new talents that blows you away.  Chase your dreams!

My favorite designer was Meghann Alaina Fanara who gave up a ballet scholarship to attend FIDM to design children apparel. She won the Karen Kain award for FIDM and had a spectacular collection and the most adorable models.

My favorite collection is the Kapasa Musonda from.. Zambia! Her passion for design, her highly detailed piece and very wearable couture made me love her collection!  She started her own line 3 years ago at the age of 17.  She has won numerous global award at home and aboard. She is a force to be reckoned with. Love you girl!

    Beauty: LA Makeup Show

Spent a lovely Sunday downtown LA at the Cal Mart checking out the LA Makeup Show

There was a lot of anticipation for an event like this, especially for us Beauty students. We were able to check out the latest and greatest from well know brands as well as indies who hit the scene running like Yaby from Toronto, OCC from LA.

I met the most fascinating person rocking YSL Tributes. Ongina aka Ryan Ong.  Do you know about her? What a bad bitch!  WOW. If you meet as many people as I do, you have a knack of picking out those who really emulate life. She had that star power and allure that just drew me to her. It’s probably some sort of cosmic magnetism. She is just amazing, beautiful and gracious.

The following beauty posts will highlight the brands and the best of the show. But for now! Here are the stylish beauty lovers who came out and looked amazing.

I am such a fan of people with incredible style, those trendsetter and those who living out loud. This is what truly inspires me. When you are around ‘like-minded’ people, you don’t feel so alone after all. What a delightful thing that is!
