Ermelinda Manos Celebrates The Release of “Lost in Las Vegas” With a Downtown Fashion Event
Local fashion designer Ermelinda Manos celebrated the official launch of her book “Lost in Las Vegas” last night with a fashion event at The Metropolitan Gallery Art Museum in Downtown Las Vegas. Manos gave thanks and appreciation to her team, guests, and family for the endless support they have shown her throughout her life, the creation of the book, and her lifelong battle with immigration.“I’m so humbled by the outpouring of support for this project,” said Manos. “I couldn’t be happier with the response for this book and how hard everyone worked to make my dream come true.” With her mom and dad by her side, she teared up as she dedicated the evening and book to other young immigrants going through the same process. Francy Johnson, who played an integral role in Manos’ immigration case, traveled 20 hours from Kuwait to celebrate the evening with her. After walking through the eclectic art in the gallery and snapping photos in the photo booth, guests were treated to a fashion show with designs from Manos’ line featured in the book, modeled by TNG Models and hair and makeup by Kelly Cardenas Salon. Local personality Sancho Van Ryan emceed the event as guests sipped on cocktails from Hug L’Originale and Tequila Chamucos. DJ Douglas Gibbs provided the soundtrack to the evening.Mayor Carolyn Goodman honored Manos with an official proclamation declaring Dec. 7 as “Ermelinda Manos Day,” recognizing her contributions to the Las Vegas community through fashion and the arts.Wearing a glittering black and gold backless design of her own, Manos then personally signed copies of her book and posed for photos with guests.Lost in Las Vegas is available online for $39.98 at lostinlasvegasbook.com. The Best Las Vegas Deals
We’ve all been guilty of letting ourselves consider vacation as a “reward” after eating healthy and working out for weeks, even months! So everyday is considered a “cheat day” right?! During our stay in Las Vegas, we were in Summerlin, North Las Vegas, Fremont and also the Red Rock! It was so nice to check out the Strip and everything else Vegas has to offer.
In a place like Las Vegas it’s easy for that to happen to anyone. The best way to stay healthy while on vacation in Vegas is to sign up for drop in classes and fun recreational activities. You can also hit up the hotel gym, and pool, do exercise right in the hotel room and eat healthy foods/drinks.

Activities and Fitness options:
-Touring the Grand Canyon and other attractions outside the strip.
-Walking the strip can be a great way to explore along with getting in some steps for the day.
-Swimming around the pool at the Wynn you get a pretty view while getting in a slight workout. This would be perfect to cool down from the hot weather in Las Vegas.
Healthy Eating options:
-If you have been eating healthy and working out for your trip to Las Vegas you can’t miss out on the great food this place has to offer. My suggestion would to be smart when ordering. Get the food you want with a smart side such as a salad or veggies.
-The Westgate is a resort that has many healthy food options even for you Vegans out there.

SPA SERVICES. For guests of Trump International Hotel™ Las Vegas, rejuvenation is never far away. Whether in search of an extended getaway or a day spa experience, The Spa at Trump® is a serene sanctuary featuring luxurious treatment rooms with services for women, men, and couples. Pamper yourself with a relaxing full-body massage, clarifying or detoxing facial, warm herbal wrap or one of the many other ways to recover from the excitement of Las Vegas.
Since I am relatively new to Las Vegas, I have no idea what kind of amazing services are in store at the Trump! The Day Spa has body treatment, massage and the works! Once you enter the luxurious spa on the pool deck floor, you are greeted by lovely service staff that make you feel welcomed and relaxed immediately. If you want luxury, Trump knows best.
I was able to check out the the “Spa Flight” package which is perfect for beginners. You can select ‘mini-services’ a la carte and see if you truly like it first. The massage and body scrub were my top choice and it was heavenly. The locker and dressing room has automatic locking lockers that were equipped with sandals, towels and a robe. In the dressing room, there are combs, brushes, hairspray, hair dryer, lotion and cotton swabs. The best part is the HUGE mirror with lights all around it. You can really see your complexion and relaxed face (or how stressed you are!) clearly. The Spa Flight includes the following choices:
Choose your own combination of the following 30 minute services customizing your own ritual experience:
- Carboxi Express Facial
- Foot Reflexology
- Neck, Back and Shoulder Massage
- Custom Body Scrub
- Relaxing Head & Scalp Massage
- Custom Bath Experience
Once you are ready, you are escorted into the relaxation room where fresh lemon water, iced tea and hot tea are available. There are also some fruits and magazines as well. The overstuffed armchairs and lounge chairs also include a cozy blanket for you to doze off and really relax. Some spa users opt for the day pass, and they come in and out all day long. My masseuse was professional, friendly and amazing! He was very mindful with his strength in helping me alleviate tense muscles I didn’t even know I had. Particular stiff are my lower back and right shoulder. When my massage was complete, I also had a body scrub (which was different than the Korean style scrub I had in Tribeca) it was more gentle and relaxing. Once everything was done, I went into the eucalyptus steam sauna and shower. What a great way to start the week!
Stiffness and tight muscles can be caused by so many reasons like a heavy purse, backpack, sitting at a desk for long periods of time and even walking your dog, favoring one side or if he pulls. The tight muscles actually block your chi and locks so many of your chakras. It can make you feel down and you don’t even know why. Immediately after my massage, I felt so much happier and relaxed.
The non-smoking, non-gaming property is home to 1,282 ultra-luxurious hotel rooms and one, two or three bedroom penthouse suites featuring marble entrances, modern decor and luxurious furnishing with floor-to-ceiling views of the Las Vegas Strip and surrounding mountain ranges. Italian marble baths and European-style kitchens with appliances by Wolf, Bosch and Sub-Zero complete each room.DJT restaurant, helmed by Executive Chef Sydney Jones and Sous Chef Vincent Green, serves a crafted menu of modern American cuisine. Offering breakfast, lunch and dinner, and featuring Nevada grown market fresh products whenever possible, signature items include the six ounce filet mignon with hand cut sweet potato fries, or grilled quail with Chinese black rice.
