Oms and Coconuts: The Yoga Show

Last weekend I attended the yoga show in Toronto and I had such an amazing time! I completely had no idea how HUGE the show would be with so many attendees and vendors. If you were interested in yoga for the physical or the spiritual benefits – you were there! I was introduced to many companies that made organic, fair trade and local items.

One of the booth that really caught my eye was the Rejuvenating Spring booth. I had a chat with one of the owners to find out more.

Kaycee: What is this company all about?

Philip: We specialist in holistic nutrition so we not only distribute top quality organic whole foods and super foods but we grow organic sprouts in a bio dynamic way. We also import and distribute other super foods.

Kaycee: Hmm what’s with the coconuts?

Phillip: Fresh young coconut is one of the best things to drink for the human body its very refreshing very rich in electrolytes and its very nice after yoga to replenish your body’s fluids. It helps the body lose weight and gain body mass. It is also very easy for the body to process and the coconut water helps to promote circulation

Kaycee: How can we Torontonians get your stuff?

Phillip: you can request for us to the at your local health food store we are online at http://rejuvenatingspring.com/  and you can order we ship and deliver.

Kaycee: How is the yoga show going for you guys?

Phillip: This is our first year at the yoga show and we are getting an amazing response with the granola and lot of our products because people can see we have a lot of integrity. We have a lot of know how because a lot of us in the company are holistic nutritionist not only are you are getting the product you are also getting knowledge.

It was really awesome meeting those guys and I even got hooked up with a coconut and a really nutritious salad.

At the end of the day the YOGA show made me realized whatever you put into your body and do onto your body will stay there forever, so do the best you can to take care of it.

    Yoga Tree for Me

The people over at Yoga Tree know that we’re committed to making sure that our minds and bodies stay RIGHT, so you can only imagine how we pleased we were; when they informed us of their new downtown location. I was particularly excited, cause it’s literally a hop and a skip away! WINNER.

“We’d love everyone to take a moment to pause and reflect on the recent crisis in Japan and focus on how we can enliven our environmental community and contribute to a brighter and cleaner future,”-Debbie Fung

Yoga Tree is committed to promoting a healthy lifestyle and community, as well as incorporating sustainable practices in order to preserve the environment. I am ALL about that 🙂 This innovative and eco-friendly studio opened its doors last month, and is located in the heart of downtown Toronto, at 140 Spadina at Richmond St. West.

“We believe in creating a space where we can enrich the lives of our students and generate physical and mental healing through the classes we provide.”-Debbie Fung

Yoga For Japan on April 21 was the first of Yoga Tree’s monthly Class for a Cause initiative- “Each month the studio will donate all proceeds from their Hatha Flow class @5PM on Fridays to a chosen charity.” These classes are offered at a reduced cost of only  $10/person.

Okay so the place looks dope. This means that the only question left to ask is… who wants to go???

    peace, love and health

    Yoga in Motion

Last weekend I attended the Mount Sinai Hospital Breast Cancer Fundraiser called Yoga in Motion. It was a very inspirational and knowledgable event. I left feeling content and inspired to take on the world. There were some women that I had talked to, who basically did it all: work, raising kids alone- since they were single moms, and battling breast cancer. I don’t know how they did it, but they did and that was truly amazing.

The event was fun, and really busy. Here are some shots!

The ladies and men, starting off their yoga.

The lovely ladies from Cooking Greens. Such delicious food! I want more!! *swoons* – Bella you foodie, you would love it!

I met Rebecca from Arbonne. And she was lovely of course. PLUS she told me about these little bad boys. Basically they are tiny little candy like protein chews. Mmmm.

Marc from Sweets from the Earth, told me about their cupcakes and how their frosting are made from lavender flower petals. I almost died. PLUS he also gave me a free sample of chocolate fudge cake, and I LOVED IT! And it’s all natural and good for you- bonus!

I met Beth Godfrey the jewellary designer. And ladies I was in love with her stuff. I wanted it all. And I still do. These particular bracelets are to support Yoga in Motion/ Mount Sinai Hospital. And they are only $10. Check out Beth Godfrey Jewellery.

I met the girls from Eco Jot. Eco Jot is an eco friendly note book company. If you buy one notebook, they send another notebook to a child in need. So go to the website and purchase one!

That’s it for now. It’ was a great event and I thank Whitney and Oriel for inviting me out. Can’t wait for next year!! Check out Yoga in Motion for other sponsors/vendors/people and what ways you can help.

    Let’s talk about STRESS

I think that this time on the calendar is one of the most stressful times in a year, the time of year (in Toronto at least) when the heat cools down and the calm, ‘lax, lifestyle becomes the time to analyze what’s next and drive harder than ever before. All positive vibes, no doubt, but with this positivity… also tends to come… STRESS! I’m not going to pretend, myself included, so I decided to look into some ‘stress relievers’ and of course here are some good ones for you… xo

YOGA – I love yoga, I use it, it works, try it

SEX – quote: “women exhibited less of a stress response after ‘positive physical contact’ with a partner”.

EXERCISE – pick one, there are a million, may I suggest something that involves a bag?

FOOD – always does wonders, in moderation

TALKING – What woman doesn’t want to talk to someone they trust about the things that stress them out? If you are a one who doesn’t, please comment, and kudos to you 😉

HERBAL SOLUTIONS – some enjoy tea, others enjoy natural enhalation… for the ideal candidate, this is a great de-stresser

SLEEP – most of us, especially the hard working go getters, don’t get enough of this… depending on what decides enough is

FUN – with all the stress that life throws our way, it always helps when we remember to have fun

MASSAGE – all I say to this is “MMMmmm”

    Hope this helps Loves… xoxo
