Rehs Contemporary Presents “The Seasons: Exploring Nature’s Palette” – A Captivating Landscape Art Exhibition

Rehs Contemporary is thrilled to announce its upcoming exhibition, “The Seasons: Exploring Nature’s Palette,” featuring an exquisite collection of over 40 works by more than a dozen contemporary landscape artists. This carefully curated showcase invites art enthusiasts and nature lovers alike to embark on a journey through the evolving beauty of the natural world.

    Andrew Orr’s ‘The Golden Hour’

The exhibition, which runs from October 5th through October 31st, will be a celebration of the ever-changing seasons and how they shape the landscapes that surround us. “The Seasons” offers a unique opportunity to explore the remarkable interpretations and artistic expressions of each featured artist as they capture the essence of nature’s transformations.

Among the artworks on display, visitors will have the privilege of admiring standout pieces that exemplify the mastery of the participating artists, including Andrew Orr’s The Golden Hour, Gail Descoeurs’ A Winter’s Eve, and Ken Salaz’s Crimson Flash at Stone Barns.

Andrew Orr’s The Golden Hour transports viewers to a lush landscape drenched in the warm, golden hues of a radiant sunset sky. With impeccable attention to detail, Orr’s brushwork captures the play of light as it dances across the serene scenery. His vivid colors evoke a sense of tranquility, inviting spectators to bask in the enchanting beauty of the day’s last moments.

Gail Descoeurs’ A Winter’s Eve presents a mesmerizing snow-blown, barren tree landscape. Through Descoeurs’ technique, viewers can almost feel the crisp winter air and sense the stillness that envelops the scene. The stark contrast between the delicate snow and the rugged tree branches creates a captivating visual narrative that embodies the elegance of a winter evening.

Ken Salaz’s Crimson Flash at Stone Barns invites observers into a lush meadow adorned with small summer flowers, all set against a backdrop of a bright crimson sky. Salaz’s use of vibrant colors and intricate detailing imbues the artwork with a sense of vitality and energy. The play between Earth and the striking sky evokes a feeling of appreciation for the wonders of the natural world.

In addition, Rehs Contemporary will be hosting an opening reception on October 5th from 4:30 to 8:00 PM, providing an opportunity for enthusiasts, collectors, and the general public to view the artwork.

“The Seasons: Exploring Nature’s Palette” promises to be a visual feast that celebrates the remarkable beauty of our world and the profound impact of the changing seasons on our surroundings. Rehs Contemporary invites everyone to join them in this artistic exploration of nature’s ever-evolving palette.

ART & JOY: BEST FRIENDS FOREVER

This wry and wisdom-filled children’s book from the author of How To Spot An Artist helps artists aged five and up discover the joy of artistic expression while silencing self-criticism.

Danielle Krysa, a children’s book author and artist, has released a new book called Art & Joy: Best Friends Forever. This inspiring tale is designed to help young artists aged five and up overcome their inner critic and embrace their artistic expression. The book tells the story of two best friends, Art and Joy, who stand up to the “Art Bully” that criticizes their creative endeavors.

Krysa understands that children also have an inner critic, and her book empowers them to tap into their imaginations, shrug off negativity, and express themselves freely through art. The book‘s brilliantly colored collages and witty typography add humor and depth to the story as Art and Joy explore the art world, discovering clever ways to get their creative juices flowing using color, shape, line, and found objects.

Art & Joy: Best Friends Forever teaches children to embrace creativity and express themselves freely. Art & Joy is now available at major bookstores and online retailers.

Kathleen Plate, the talented artist behind Smart Glass Jewelry, has always loved to create beautiful things. The seeds of her love affair with glass were planted in childhood, when her mother taught her how to solder and work with stained glass. One of Kathleen’s gifts is understanding the strengths of different tools and techniques, and then using them (often unexpectedly!) for new applications. As a graduate student and in need of a gift for a friend’s birthday, Kathleen made a pair of earrings out of glass, applying her unique perspective. The earrings were a total success and so, the path began!

The entire process, from dumpster diving for empties to styling the perfect piece of jewelry for a night out on the town is part of my art.

Born and raised in Cathlamet, a small town in Washington State, her small-town roots are evident in her minimalist, “keep it simple” design philosophy. Now residing in Atlanta, Georgia, you’ll find her every day in her studio, tinkering and creating, and hitting the occasional dumpster at night.

When not in the studio, Kathleen loves to travel (and has visited every country in Latin America!), has swum with Whale Sharks, is terrified of blue eels, and is currently learning Spanish. She just completed her second Master’s degree, just for fun.

    JON BIO

Born with dyslexia, Jonathan could not read and write like many other children his age. So instead of giving in to frustration, Jonathan used his struggle as a catalyst for creativity by expressing his ideas through art. Having overcome his learning difficulty, Jonathan has fallen in love with reading. Robby the Dyslexic Taxi and the Aiport Adventure exemplify Jonathan’s passion for writing and illustration. Together with Lynn, his mother, and his writing partner, they are already thinking of other stories that complement this book. To learn more about Jonathan and his work, visit Creationaire Arts.

    LYNN BIO

Lynn is the happiest wife, mom, and grandma. A very retired attorney who loves to cook, exercise, and read, she has seen how positivity with feelings and differences can allow children to grow into happy, productive adults. During COVID-19, when many families were living together with an abundance of unscheduled free time, Lynn and Jonathan began to work on the concepts and ideas for Robby. As ideas developed, they became increasingly invested in the character, his story, and the impact this endeavor could have on others.
