Are you coming?
I pop my Intimate & Interactive cherry this Friday, and I’m so excited! Toronto is such an inspiring city to live, mostly because the talent in this city alone is crazy! This Friday, Intimate & Interactive and The Remix Project are giving us that goodness; featuring songstress Andreena Mill with artists Kyauna, Savannah Re, PG, and Courtney Taylor as the opening acts. Yes, it is time, and I can’t wait!
I’m hoping I can catch a quick interview with Andreena Mill, as well as the rest of the ladies, and you KNOW I’m gonna be taking lots of pictures!
When: THIS Friday
Where: Suba Nightclub, 292 College St
$15 BEFORE 11; $20 AFTER
I’ve spent the morning listening to all these ladies music, and THIS is definitely something you don’t want to miss.
The question is no longer, “are you coming?”. You MUST come.
More event and limited guestlist info here.
Thanks to Tika for inviting us!

Music eh! Peter Jackson
Toronto MC- Peter JacksonPeter Jackson is a Toronto-based MC, is today’s Music eh! feature. and he recently premiered his new music video for “Miss Right” featuring Sizzla Kalonji. This is the first song I’ve heard from Peter Jackson, and it’s definitely made a good impression on me. His delivery is smooth and almost hypnotic… Sizzla is always on point, so this was definitely a good collabo. I think they did an awesome job on the video, and the ending is too funny. lolI dig it.Have you heard of Peter Jackson before? Any favourite tracks by him? What do you think of his new song/video?
Need more “Miss Right”? Get it on iTunes NOW.

Music eh! On my own preview

I met SOUL last summer, and we hit it off immediately. Such a cool guy, so funny, and totally talented. I was so impressed by how passionate he was about his craft, and his unwillingness to be grouped into any categories as far as producing music goes, that I had to interview him. We got to listen to some of his work, as well as find out a little bit about what makes the man that is SOUL tick. Which is why I was so excited to get some of his new work in my inbox this weekend.
“On my own” is Vancouver-based rapper LAZE-E’s first single off the LAZE-E’s-MUGGER Therapy mixtape which is set to be released soon. The track features JRDN, and was produced by Mr. SOUL himself. We only get to hear a little bit of the song, but by the sound of it; SOUL definitely didn’t disappoint, and neither did LAZE-E or JRDN. I think this was a great collaboration, a very nice mix of talents, can’t wait to hear the whole song! Canada, you make me so proud.
Thanks to SOUL for sharing this with us.
What do you think of the song so far?

LUMINATO Press Conference and Concert
Dublin to Dehli! I heart you guys… for real. If you’ve never seen these guys perform, you MUST.
I had the pleasure of attending the LUMINATO press conference and concert at the Roy Thomson Hall, yesterday morning. I also had the priviledge of interviewing the CEO of LUMINATO, Janice Price, and her team. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised to find out that the CEO OF LUMINATO is a woman.
Janice Price (CEO-LUMINATO) and I
Where I come from women don’t normally hold the position of CEO, as some corporations still believe it’s a “man’s world”; thank goodness things are starting to change for the better with more women becoming CEOs of major corporations. I say this because I’m always excited when I meet women that are doing amazing things with their careers and breaking stereotypes or “rules” that have been placed on women. So to meet a “Madame CEO” that’s doing big things; well that just about makes my day.
Chris Lorway (Artistic Director- LUMINATO) and I
Jessica Dargo Caplan – Director of Education and Community Outreach and IDehli to Dublin was there to give us some of that feel good music, and it definitely wasn’t what I expected. I was totally BLOWN AWAY by this band. I was so blown away, that after their performance I insisted that I become a member of the band. I hope they know that I took those smiles, nods and even a yes as confirmation that I am now a band member. I’m just playing… but really.
George Sawa – He said, “I thought you were going to start taking pictures of me, but you’re only taking pictures of food!” ha ha
Jason Mason, Peter J Merrick, and Irwin Duncan
Peter J Merrick- President of MerrickWealthI’m so grateful to Festivals in Toronto for giving me the opportunity to interview this amazing woman, as well as get to know some members of her brilliant team! Rocky, Ryan, Robert; you guys are an amazing camera crew, I felt like a total PRO! Ha ha. Nicholas, Irwin and Jason, Thank you so much. Thanks to Gerard (event coordinator RTH) for your wonderful hospitality.
I can’t wait for LUMINATO 2011!

Music eh! Ehlien swag!
“spittin hotter than some lava, comin outta Guatemala”- Drew Howard
I lived in Toronto for a while, so how have I not heard of Drew Howard before. Yes I know, shame on me, and shame on you for not putting me on. I came across Drew Howard’s new video for “Hustle” featuring D-Pryde while taking a virtual walk through Youtube a few days ago. And…Song is dope. I love the delivery of the track, I love Drew’s flow, I love the enthusiasm, and I LOVE that they are reppin’ Canada hard! You can’t help but enjoy this song, the fun their having in the video is totally contagious. Before I knew it, I was smiling and bopping my head to the beat, rocking from left to right, and fighting the urge to just throw my arms up in the air and rock out.
I need one of those Ehlien tees ASAP.
What do you think of the new “Hustle” video? Like it? Love it? Hate it?
peace, love and health
