New Cool Funky Store in Soho @Madonnaandco

As many of you know, I recently moved back to Manhattan after 2 years in Brooklyn and I was exciting to see all the new shops and restaurants that have opened!

Screen Shot 2014-06-04 at 9.53.58 PM The best thing about venturing in NY is walking around and discovering interesting stores. One of that caught my eye was Madonna & Co. This funky boutique has a curated selection of jewelry, dresses, tops, shorts, handbags and belts. There is nothing typical about this store.

    About Madonna & Co

Simply put, it’s not “about us” – It’s completely, and uniquely, about you. We figure you’re tired of seeing the same old, same old so we’ve put the thrill back in shopping.

At Madonna Co (M & C) you’re entering a world where fashion isn’t copied, it’s created. Where luxury is about being one of a kind, not how much you spend. Where you’ll discover exclusive designs, vintage pieces, and exciting mixes of fabrics. Everything is easy to wear, yet sophisticated, feminine, but, inspired by the art of edgy fashion details.

Our customer is an independent woman, not a woman of independent means. She stands out in her own style, rather than following the fashion pack. And wherever she lives, she has a New York state of mind. (By the way, come visit our boutique in the heart of SoHo).

Madonna & Co thinks you are uniquely you and it’s all about attitude.

And you can’t afford not to look fabulous!

    (NY) TopShop Rocks

In September, I bought a coat from TopShop. I kinda splurged but I really loved it.  But have 2 months of being with me in LA, TO and NY – the pocket decided to rrrrrrrrrip. Sad to say, I had to bring it back to TopShop.  They were so nice and helpful and told me I can exchange for something of equal value.

Those of you who know how I shop…know that this was not an easy task for me. It took me almost 8 months to find a jacket I liked! And it broke 🙁  And if you guys remember, my Zara suede hobo bag also broke… Grrr… So I spent 2 hours and a half in TopShop and exchanged my coat for a new coat AND a bag 🙂
    Fur Collared Flying Jacket

     Leather Metal Trim Satchel

Pretty good deal right? Thank you TopShop for being flexible and putting customers like me first ^_^

    (NY) Nygård

A few months ago, I was contacted by the Social Media person of Nygard introducing the brand to me. As they are doing massive rebranding and new media efforts, I was really excited to see what they have brewing. Here is great background in from our friends at Wikipedia:
On December 1, 1967, Peter Nygård used his life savings and an additional loan of $8,000 to purchase 20% of a woman’s clothing manufacturer. A few years later Peter Nygård owned the company and renamed it Nygård International.Nygård apparel manufacturing company was founded in 1967 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. It is now headquartered in Toronto, Ontario. Peter Nygård’s fashion concept retail store opened in Times Square in Manhattan on Friday, November 6, 2009.

I had the pleasure of going to that very store today. It is located on prime real estate, att 40th and Broadway. The store is prominent and beautifully lit. I got to chatting with the manager, Marsha at the store and she said lots of exciting things coming up for the holidays!

Here is my fave! It comes in Purple, Emerald Green and Black

If you want to find out more about Nygard, you are find them on Facebook here and follow them on Twitter here so you wont miss events.. (like their big 1 yr NYC store fashion show) the way I did! Hmph!

nyc day 1: trail mix, shopping

So first day in NY after a great night rest perched 34 floors up in Chino’s place, a condo in Battery Park City – the mini suburb of Manhattan. Pretty amazing view and a hop skip away from BK bridge, WTC and all the wonderful NY excitement. I wandered to Canal St and didn’t find a lot of interesting thing so I jumped on the subway and headed up to Time Square… Just to go down Broadway far enough to discover the KIRA PLASTININA boutique. Wow! I knew of this 16 year old Russian designer from fash mags, youtube and fashionTV… But to see it in person! OMG so in love!!! Wait til you see the stuff I got! In the mean time…KIRAPLASTININA.com to see what all the fuss is about. Ps: trailmix is a great energy booster for those ny shopping days! My personal favs r tropical island and the yogurt mix. More in store tomorrow 🙂
