What She Wore: Recap of @WMCFashionWeek #ootd
I get really excited and frustrated when World MasterCard Fashion Week comes around, because I have no clue what to wear lol. I’m excited for all the fashion goodness, but when it comes to dressing myself, I’m a total wreck. This season, I did what I always do, BRIGHT COLOURS. I figured people won’t really notice how nice, or not so nice your outfits are, when there are nice and bright colours to distract them lol. So my approach this season was keep it simple, and O.D. on lots of colour, prints and head wraps. As for my make-up, I chose to keep that simple as well; clean face, winged eyes, and a burgundy lip. I planned on wearing my fro out this season, but the weather was crazy honey, so that wasn’t happening! Here’s what I wore during 5 of some of the the most fashionable days in Toronto 🙂
DAY ONE
I had just gotten off work, and I was exhausted. It was cold outside, and I was feeling blue… I was also late so I had to think quickly lol
Headwrap: H&M | Dress and Earrings: Forever21 | Vintage Blazer: Black Market | Shoes: Jessica Simpson | Bangles: Costa Blanca
DAY TWO
The mustard and the camo headwrap just seemed like a good idea… and as long as the colours were popping, I was cool with it 🙂
Headwrap: Holt Renfrew | Vintage Blazer: Black Market | Dress: H&M | Shoes: Aldo
I had the day off and the chance to take a long and glorious nap, so I was feeling more fashion week-y on day three! Plus, this jumpsuit was TIGHT when I first bought it, so you can only imagine the JOY I felt, when I put it on and it fit! I had to rock it!
Headwrap: It’s a pashmina 🙂 | Vintage Jumpsuit: Black Market | Shoes: BCBG MAXAZRIA | Bangles: A market in Accra, Ghana

The “Big Red Bow” was a hit during fashion week, and this is the first time I’d ever tied my headwrap like this. Success!

I was feeling fun, flirty and girly, so this dress was a natural choice!
Headwrap: H&M | Earrings: Forever21 | Vintage Silk Dress: Black Market | Bag: Steve Madden | Wedges: Aldo

I really didn’t know what to wear for day five, I was tired from all the shows and events, and just needed a nap; but once I remembered that I had this dress that I bought in the UK almost a year ago, everything fell into place 🙂
Headwrap: Black Market | Earrings: Forever21 | Dress: Miss Selfridge | Shoes: Aldo
There you have it! What do you all think of my choices?
Stay fly!

You have a Point with @TIPTOPSHOESAVER

from Shoerazzi Everyone has their own preference to shoes and one that is perfect for any occasion is the classic pointed stiletto. Â If you love your shoes, spend a fortune on them – you really need to take care of your shoes! Â To me, the shoe makes the outfit. Always plan your day feet first. Being so pedestrian in NY, the shoes you choose for your day can really make a huge difference.
I have had shoes for over 6 years that are still in great shape because I try my best to take care of them. That means, I always buy the leather protecter spray, keep them in shoe bags and I am on the lookout for more products to help me take care of my favorite shoes.
Photo from Shoerazzi TipTop Shoe Savers is a product that you can use to help your pointed shoe keep their point. Simply put, TIP TOP SHOE SAVER, fills the tips of pointed toe shoes. Unlike most shoe forms that are placed in shoes and can only be used while the shoe is not being worn, TTSS can actually remain inside of the shoe while you’re wearing it. Yes, we said Tip Top Shoes Saver can be worn, and at the same time, provide the structure and form that helps new shoe tips keep their form and restores worn out , bent and creased shoe tips to their original form.

Use them to prevent any warping!
I am giving away a pair of these to one lucky winner.
All you have to do is Tweet a photo of your favorite pointed shoes to me at @heydoyou and @tiptopshoesaver.
Good Luck!

Your Last Chance to Get on the Gladiator Train
If you’ve paid any attention to fashion over the past few seasons, chances are you’ve seen the gladiator sandal. This distinctive footwear has been in the spotlight for several years now. The shoes can be worn with almost any outfit, from long, flowy dresses to shorts. However, gladiator sandals may not compliment every body type.Understanding the Trend
When you consider the visual appeal and adaptability of the gladiator sandal, it’s easy to understand why they’re so popular among women of all ages. For example, gladiator sandals are available with high heels, stilettos, wedge heels and no heel at all. These sandals are also available in a wide variety of patterns and colors, making them the perfect addition to almost any outfit.
Because so many brands have manufactured their own versions of the gladiator sandal, the competition in the market is fierce, which is advantageous for consumers. With brands competing for your business, it’s easy to find an attractive and affordable pair of gladiator sandals that you love.
Gladiator Sandals and Body Types
Though most people can find at least one pair of gladiator sandals that work well with their body type (and in fact, there are even gladiator sandals for men), certain consumers have to be more careful with these shoes than others. For example, if you have short legs, larger calves or thick ankles, some gladiators may accentuate these qualities. Make sure you check out the mirror before you make a purchase.
Choosing Gladiator Sandals
With so many varieties of gladiator sandals available, it can be difficult to make a choice. When choosing a pair of sandals to add to your wardrobe, remember to look at the quality of the material, the aesthetic appeal and the versatility. For example, if you want a pair of sandals that you can wear with almost anything, consider the Sky by Wolky. With its contoured cork footbed and memory foam sole, this pair of Wolky sandals is perfect for anyone who spends time on her feet. In addition, because these sandals are a neutral shade, you can wear them with most outfits.
If you’re looking for a dressier or more unique gladiator sandal, consider Sam Edelman’s designs. Sam Edelman offers sandals in a variety of colors and styles to complement virtually any ensemble. Prices on Sam Edelman sandals vary considerably, ranging from around $60 to more than $200.
For the past few summers, gladiator sandals have been all the rage. If you haven’t bought your own pair yet, there’s still time! Before you choose your perfect pair, remember to consider the way they look on your feet, the price, how often you’ll be able to wear them and whether or not they’re comfortable. Happy shopping!

Surprisingly Chic: Bringing Clogs Back for Fall 2012
If the word “clogs” has you imagining yourself clomping down the street in clunky Dutch wooden shoes, think again. Despite their bad rap, clogs can make a serious style statement. Pair them with a killer outfit and great accessories and your wooden heels will be the envy of every other girl you meet.

Clog Factory (Photo credit: Dave Haygarth) Clogs: In or Out for Fall 2012?
Karl Lagerfeld took the fashion world by surprise when he featured clogs in Chanel’s Spring/Summer 2010 collection. That year, the clog trend was all about pairing sophisticated clogs with frilly, feminine attire. Two years later, clogs are still on-trend for fall 2012, with Vena Cava designers Lisa Mayock and Sophia Buhai favoring this style. Instead of 2010’s ultra-feminine take on clogs, fashion-savvy women are putting a new, bolder twist on this surprisingly versatile footwear.
What to Look for in a Pair of Clogs
The Spring 2012 runways were full of 1970s-inspired looks, and the fall clog trend is an extension of this design aesthetic. Wood-bottomed shoes transition nicely from a playful, easy summertime look to a sexy style for fall. When choosing clogs, look for a pair with a tall heel to elongate your legs and modernize the look. Feel free to experiment with color; although rich black leather looks great with everything, honey gold clogs with light wood are unexpected and very on-trend. Other hot colors for fall include dark chocolate brown, titanium and deep ultramarine green.
If you prefer a flat shoe, choose carefully to prevent your outfit from looking stale and dated. Flat-heeled clogs in a bold color or clog-inspired sandals can make a strong style statement while keeping your feet comfortable. For example, there’s a wide variety of Dansko Shoes that come in several hues to complement your look.
Clogs with a wedge heel are another great way to stay trendy for fall. These clogs are easy to walk in and look great with a variety of outfits. Remember to pair flat or wedge clogs with modern, tailored attire to keep from looking like you stepped out of a 70s time capsule.
How to Wear this Trend
As you transition into your fall wardrobe, you don’t have to leave cute summer dresses behind. Pairing clogs with your favorite warm-weather frock is a fresh and unexpected choice. Just add stockings and a fitted blazer to stay seasonally appropriate. Alternatively, consider pairing your clogs with slim-cut pants or cuffed skinny jeans and your favorite top.
After several years of skinny pants on the runway, designers are jumping back on the flared pant bandwagon. Although bellbottoms may be on-trend this fall, avoid pairing them with your new pair of clogs. Even if you’re going for a fun retro look, this combination looks sloppy and dated.
Clogs are a fun addition to any wardrobe for fall. Because these shoes can be a bold fashion statement on their own, try to keep the rest of your look relatively sleek and polished to avoid looking overdone. When choosing an outfit to complement your newest pair, add a pop of color or your favorite accessories to make the look your own.
