Event LOVE: Moose&Beaver Apparel F/W2013 Launch @moose_beaver
We were recently introduced to Moose&Beaver Apparel’s Fall/Winter Ready-to-Wear collection. It was cold outside, but inside, it was a packed house on on the sixth floor of The Burroughes building on Queen Street West, as we eagerly anticipating the show.
After the show I got to sit down with Creative Director and Owner Leah Antoinette. We talked about her collection. One thing that really stood out from our conversation is that she wants everybody, from all walks of life, with all kinds of body types to wear her collection. She stressed the importance of being comfortable in your body, and wearing what makes you happy. I love that!
“Moose&Beaver Apparel is dedicated to creating clothes that will ‘love you back’ “
The collection has incorporated merino wool, alpaca and viscose yarns, distressed leather, and vintage fur in a neutral palette base of dark browns and creams. It will be available for sale across North America at mooseandbeaver.com, with prices ranging from $250 to $1,000 CDN.
Telly, Carcia, Leah and I 🙂
Congratulations on a great show, and thank you for inviting us!

My Pink and Pretty Quickly Mani with @SallyHansen
Busy does not being to explain the state I have been in the last few weeks! It has been mayhem really – juggling transitions through and through. Personally, a few big things happened – I got married! It is a real mental transition from being a single girl to a married woman. Hard to explain and more in later post. Secondly – The weather has been trying to get to spring desperately and the rain/snow/sun combo has been definitely under the weather as they say. Third – I got a new job! So from going to freelance to full time has my agenda filled a bit more than usual and me sleepier lately. More on that later as well.On days like this, simple and fast are both friends of mine and anything that embodies these attributes are my friend. So alas, let me introduce to you the stars of the day: Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure and Sally Hansen Gem Crush.
The Complete Salon Manicure in Pink Pong is a Godsend after I did a gel manicure that ravaged my nails 🙁 They were thin as paper after 2 weeks of scratch free perfection and my natural nails needed something that was neutral and beautiful. Pink Pong is the pink color of a French manicure – a creme light pink that dries really quickly. It has a massive brush and my nails are tiny so it gave incredible coverage with one stroke. It has a GEL-like shine and is chip resistant (kinda like how I have to be with all this stress!).
The Sally Hansen Gem Crush is what I call a true ‘one-coat’ glitter! It has micro glitters in a rose gold and then mini glitters in sliver. This color Razzle Dazzler is jam packed with glitter and one coat did the trick. I did put a top coat on it after to give it a shiny finish. This has a regular sized brush that is great for small nails like me. Make sure you give this a good shake.
Love these two colors that can be worn together or separate. It is a great on-the-go manicure or like me ‘recovery’ manicure while your nails grow long again. It is neutral enough that it can deal with a bit of imperfection and smudges but pretty enough to show that you care about your nails. Get these at any drugstore near you and find your combo colors to help you through your life ‘transitions’ easier on http://sallyhansen.com/products/nails/nail-color

Super FUN Times: Shopping The Store with @_CostaBlanca
I got a lovely invite to “Shop The Store” from Costa Blanca recently, and finally got to go in on my day off. I haven’t been to, never mind shopped at Costa Blanca in ages, so I was pleasantly surprised to see how bright, and colourful their clothes are now, plus there’s so much selection. The Costa Blanca I remember had lots of neutral colours, pastels and a lot of the same stuff year after year. But things done changed! I saw lots of neons, floral prints, tribal prints, cute flowy skirts, colorful maxi dresses, gorgeous onesies, oh it was fantastic! Totally up my alley. Things have definitely changed for the better.
decisions decisions…
I was in loooooove with this maxi!
These bangles were giving me LIFE!!
lol the face…
After scanning the aisles (yes all of them), I finally picked a few items and went to try on different looks. After what seemed like an eternity of trying on clothes (totally not complaining, I loved it!) I finally settled on a turquoise maxi dress, a cute neon yellow sweater, and two sets of awesome bangles. The best part about it? I got to take my look home!
Thank you to Costa Blanca for having me, and for the lovely gifts! If you haven’t been to Costa Blanca in a while, I suggest you go because it has some… no A LOT of awesome and amazing stuff!
peace and love

A night in the Icing Sugar Towers! @LeDolci
I was invited to join a Chocolate Truffle making class over at the Le Dolci studio (The Icing Sugar Towers) recently, and it was a wonderful and sweet experience. Let me start off by saying just how lovely it is in there. It’s so pretty; there’s cute cakes and cupcakes everywhere, pretty balloons, everything is pink and white… just lovely. I didn’t want to leave; it was like wonderland, but with cakes, sweets, chocolates, and cupcakes galore. Heavenly.
Cherry giving us the 411 on all things chocolate 🙂
The class started off with Cherry giving us the goods on all things chocolate, then it was time to get down to business. Although I have loads of experience eating chocolate, I haven’t worked with chocolate since Chef school which was years ago, so I was totally excited to go back to my “roots” and get my hands dirty… and eat some chocolate!
It’s so lovely in there! A fun foodie studio indeed 🙂
before things got deliciously messy 🙂
Coconut and Chocolate. A match made in heaven.
obviously very proud of myself at this point lol
Can’t touch my piping skills! lol
Are you drooling yet? yes. yes. It’s okay.
Seriously though. How awesome are these cupcakes?!
I totally need to take a cupcake decorating class!
Got a little bonus lesson on drawing using chocolate 🙂
Then it was home time for me and my 20 truffles!!
Le Dolci offers sooooo many other classes, so if your into sweet treats, but chocolate isn’t your thing (how is that possible??), there are lots of other classes you take. There are cupcake, cookie, and cake decorating classes, Parisian Macarons making classes, pie making classes and more! The classes are also taught in small groups so you get that one-on-one attention 🙂 You should go.
Thank you so much to Lisa for inviting me, and to Cherry for an awesome class!
stay sweet 🙂
