New App @NightupLife @RegularQuis does #1OAK
Hey it’s Marquis, back with another event guest post. Lets get right in to it, so for Halloween this year I went to a costume party at, drum roll… 1Oak!
This is probably nothing to everyone from New York but me being from Boston and for everyone else from the outside world, 1Oak is the place to get in to.
Also to make this night even more cool and to give out free advertising points, I used an iPhone app called NightUp. NightUp is a night club app straight out of London that just recently landed in New York and it (lowkey) is a night life bible!!! Take a look at it when you get a chance!
So all in all, my night was amazing and I didn’t even end my night at 1Oak but that’s another story. That’s all I have this time around, stay tuned for the next event.

7Bee Designs – Best of Korea Housewares Showcase
I was invited to check out this ‘online showroom’ or Korea Housewares. It is up until Nov 15th so you have 3 more days to check it out. The Korean Housewares Showcase 2013 in New York is hosted by the Korea International Trade Association (KITA) starting from October 30th to November 7th. This showcase will offer exclusive access to the top 20+ Korean Housewares companies and their expansive product lines, including hundreds of tableware, cookware and kitchen essentials products.
The New York Showroom will be on display from October 30th to November 7th, 2013. The Showroom viewing is a free admission and on an appointment-basis and those that are in the New York local area are encouraged to attend in order to review and experience the latest products firsthand. A KITA representative will be available at the showroom in order to curate the products as well as provide additional information. If you are not able to make it to the New York showroom, you can explore our online exhibition until November 15, 2013.

How appropriate that Yvonne and I should go to Li-Lac Chocolate‘s factory on Halloween. Here is a look inside at the process of making fine chocolates.

Everything is as delicious as it looks. Yvonne preferred the milk chocolate, and I preferred the dark. My personal favorites are chocolate covered marzipan and chocolate covered pretzels. We both agreed that we wouldn’t say no to a chocolate Thanksgiving turkey. Tis the season. To be decadent.
And I feel good about being decadent. I remember Michael Pollan saying in Food Rules that as long as we’re eating food that our grandparents’ generation recognized as food, we’re okay. Li-Lac’s recipes haven’t changed since they started.
Li-Lac prides itself on tradition, and they are celebrating their 90th anniversary this Sunday, November 3rd at their Jane Street shop in Greenwich Village with 1923 prices. Come eat and be decadent!
