Beauty Preview with Shiseido and Cle de Peau #ShiseidoWaterfall
The perfect way to break into the reality of Fall and to say hello to November is to attend a Spring 2014 Beauty Preview host by Shiseido and Cle de Peau at the Waterfall Mansion. Located on the quaint 80th St in the Upper East Side. This venue is stunning! I knew I had arrived when I saw the front gate that matched the perforated invited I received a few weeks back!
I knew just a bit about Shiseido because because my mom cannot stop raving about them but I haven’t used any of their color cosmetics and skincare regularly. I was so interested and impressed by this event’s elegant presentation and product showcase!
One of the really exciting Limited Edition products is this SPF foundation with a traditional kimono inspired design on the top. Each station had a Shiseido beauty expert explain and demo the products thoroughly.
An actual waterfall inside the house! How zen and beautiful. Notice the Shiseido logo projected on the waterfall for a really nice touch. While perusing the spring collection, we had a complimentary sushi bar throughout the entire event, paired with coffee, teas and lychee drinks too!
So I came home with a HUGE goodie bag of all the products and I can’t wait to try and review them all. Here is a sneak peek at some of the new shades of the Lacquer Gloss and Lacquer Rouge.
Lacquer Gloss – There are 8 new shades coming this Spring!Inspired by suki-urushi or “transparent lacquer.” Suki-urushi is a style of traditional Japanese lacquerware which involves high-quality raw lacquer that has a transparent, glossy finish with clear color.
Lacquer Rouge – 7 new shades coming this SpringInspired by Japanese lacquer artistry, this 9,000-year old technique delivers exceptional lustrous shine and an almost wet-looking finish to a wide variety of pieces, called “lacquerware.
I will show you the swatches in Feb!

@ilovelucius and so can you!
Brooklyn’s Lucius have just released one of the best albums of the year, “Wildewoman”. I preordered the record after seeing this live performance of a song that would soon become one of my favorites on the record, “Turn it Around”.
My shiny new vinyl arrived in the mail at just the right time. While home sick from work, I was greeted at the door with the package I had been waiting for– Thank you, Mr. Postman!
Because I scored the preorder, the cover of my record was signed by the entire band– neat! The package also included a Lucius lollipop to compliment the artwork and general vibe of the record. You see, Lucius’ sugar-sweet dual vocals are accompanied by a solid band of classy and talented gentlemen, combining to create a modern day girl group a la The Ronetttes. The result is a perfect pop record capable of making you smile at any given moment.
Other standout tracks include the emotional heartstring-pulling “Go Home,” an epic tale of escape in “The Two of Us on the Run” and the catchy title-track, “Wildewoman.”
Lucius’ debut album is out now in the US and Canada. Get it on vinyl or CD: http://po.st/wildewoman or on iTunes: http://po.st/wwitunes. For tour dates, mailing list and more: http://ilovelucius.com/

@CrabtreeEvelyn Festive Gifts Have Arrived!
I’ve been a huge fan of Crabtree & Evelyn since I can remember. Their luscious bath and shower gels are always on my wish list during the holidays and their gift sets are always at a great price point (meaning there’s no excuse to not gift me during the holidays, haha!).

This upcoming holiday season, Crabtree & Evelyn are unveiling a brand new range of goodies, such as their peppermint-scented holiday soaps (all $5), shaped as Santa, snowmen or beautifully decorated stars. I love them—these are definitely going on my wish list in December!

But my favorite addition to Crabtree & Evelyn’s collection has to be their holiday home fragrances. I’m a bit obsessive when it comes to candles and fragrances so I was over the moon when I received my Gilded Chesnut Home Fragrance in the mail. This new scent combines roasted chestnuts with warm spices, ripe autumn berries and whipper butter with musk and a sweet cream accord.

It’s a soft, cozy and definite Holiday fragrance I’m loving in my apartment this time of year. It’s a paraffin wax blend and the candle comes in two sizes, small ($12.50) and large ($35). The small candle burns for 20 hours and the large (which I have now) burns up to 50 hours. That’s a lot of burn time, but I’m shopping for more because I can’t stop lighting this one!
Crabtree & Evelyn has also carried their Gilded Chestnut scent to fragrance oil, fragrances botanicals, porcelain diffusers, and even a fragrance spray—yes, please!

Stop by your local Crabtree & Evelyn store to pick up some of their seasonal goodies or shop online at crabtree-evelyn.com.

Meditate on these words
I think a lot about the friends I made, the friend I had and the friends I left behind. No truer words are said. Sometimes you go through phases and the best person for you at that time is not even a friend anymore in 6 months. People come and go, just don’t forget how you made them feel and what was special at that very moment.
