Give kids a boost with Reading Eggs!

With only 10 days of school left this year, I am recommending this fun workbooks I had the pleasure to review with Niko. Reading Eggs teaches fun, interactive phonemic awareness games to help children learn to read, used by schools, parents, and homeschoolers alike. The program is based on the five pillars of reading: phonics, phonemic awareness, fluency, vocabulary, and reading comprehension. It’s designed for ages 2 to 13, focusing on helping preschoolers ages 4 to 6 develop early literacy skills to create empowered learners as they begin school. Reading Eggs draws on research from multiple disciplines, including literacy, cognitive neuroscience, linguistics, and education experts.

It also provides optional workbooks designed to complement the online program (or perfect as a standalone) so children can take their learning offline. Fusioning of digital and print resources maximizes educational gains, fostering significant progress in a child’s academic journey.A Reading Eggs subscription includes access to Reading Eggs Junior, Reading Eggs, Reading Eggspress, Fast Phonics, and Mathseeds for up to four children – access Reading Eggs on desktop, iOS, and Android anytime, anywhere across multiple devices.

Not all screentime is equal and learning games like this equate “good screen time”. My son likes to do these programs and workbooks while I am busy in the kitchen preparing breakfast or dinner. Summer time brain drain can definitely occur and with just a few pages a day can make a huge difference!

    New @Evenflobaby ExerSaucer #WorldExplorer

Guestblog by Adalhi Mittnacht – Check out my Facebook Mom Group -Baby, Bébé, Bambino!  here

New York mamas all share one thing, LACK OF STORAGE. I am always looking for toys that will convert and grow with Miss D, and also toys that can be used for baby dos (no-we are not pregnant again-yet)! Our little love bug is almost turning 1 this month and a new adventure is in store! Winter time in NYC means lots of indoor time but that’s okay because we found something really fun to show you.
We have recently discovered the Evenflo World Explorer Triple Fun Plus ExerSaucer. We were one of the lucky families picked to review this product and write a sponsored post. Once we received the package, it took us about an hour to put this together and then it was ready for testing.

The ExerSaucer Triple Fun World Explorer is a safe alternative to walkers. Perfect for allowing children to explore their world and expand their mind with a variety of age-appropriate toys with lights, sound and music.

This awesome toy can convert into 3 forms – The play mat, the bouncing play station and then the play table. The one we got was the World Explorer Edition and there is also a Jungle, Barnyard and Beach version too. Each version has their own types of learning, songs, music and fun!

My mom commented on how far these have come along-and how much easier it is to clean. We missed the play mat stage, but taking full advantage of the bouncing stage.  It is designed to help your baby achieve important developmental milestones. Unique developmental toys include a story book pod, featuring 12 pages, 36 different sounds and 4 languages.  In a few short weeks I am sure we will be setting it up as the table, since little miss has begun taking steps! Something we are both excited for and scared.  It is fun to know I can set her in there and she will entertain herself. Being a bi-lingual family, I love that this toy speaks a few languages and the World Traveler theme is one that fits our family perfectly.
The electronic toy bar has two pull toys to make lights and sounds. A soft cushioned mat is included for care or tummy play. The rock, spin and bounce actions provide your baby with plenty of exercise to strengthen legs, back and neck muscles. Offering parents extended use with three stages and easy conversion, your baby can use this product to learn and play from newborn to 24 months! Includes three height positions, a built in carry handle and washable seat pad.
Her grandfather just came back from being in Antarctica-so penguins are definitely a thing in our casa. Looking forward to learning and playing with Evenflo this Holiday season!

    What a Nice Guy

For the earlier half of this month Caleb, age 8, has been working on his Current Events Project Presentation for his class. The article he’s focused on is one about Toronto-turned-International music producer Boi-1da & the 2011 Juno Awards, out of NOW magazine. I took a picture of him(seen above), during one work session & tweeted it. The image was then taken and posted on @boi1da ‘s blog with the title saying, “Do this for y’all…”. Caleb is still talking about it! It means a lot to him, such a nice guy. Special thanx to @MarlyHustle of Sound Hustle.
