Celebrating Mom at #roimomday @roirelations
Who believes Mom’s should be celebrated everyday of the year?? I do! We recently celebrated Mother’s Day at the third annual ROI Mother’s Day event. It was an indoor picnic with a Parisian theme; there were pretty flowers everywhere, delicious desserts , pink bubbly, a manicure station, a plate and flower crown making station, and so much more! This Mother’s Day event was especially special as ROI founders Delphine Nicholls and Sam Diamond were both first time Mommies (they gave birth two days apart!) This was also the first time that ROI committed to featuring local, female entrepreneur vendors and sponsors, such as Crowns by Caleigh and Recreative Works by Renee Elliott.
They also worked with the charity Dress For Success Toronto, by accepting donations of gently used, professional clothing and unused hygienic/makeup products; in order to make it easier for disadvantaged women to join the workforce and showcase their self-confidence and economic independence.

10 Things I learned from MOM
- Always try your best at whatever you are doing – if mom approves the rest of the world probably will as well.
- Let bygones be bygones – No point in holding onto things of the past, time is moving forward and so should you.
- Treat others with kindness – Even when it is hard or you don’t feel like it, you will be surprised at what kind of personal battles we may be fighting
- Eat first – Don’t let yourself get hungry in every sense of the word.
- Love yourself – Treat yourself with a special diligence, don’t neglect your own well being in pursuit of approval from others
- Be fearless – Try and try again, make a decision, stick by it, know when to move on and learn something in the process
- Read books, smell flowers, taste food and be curious about life, nature and others
- Never trust those who are mean to children, elderly or animals – Always know who you are dealing with, when people show you their true colors, believe them.
- Do the right thing at the right time
- Action speak louder than words

3. Sweetheart Mom – This mom is adored by all the other parents for her doting ways. She may not be perfect but she is a sweetheart and you can always trust her with a playdate. Being an even-kneeled mom in the midst of a ‘shit storm’ while being sweet and looking fashionable is what HoneyMania is all about. Social media maven Nori’s mom takes the cake for being a sweetheart mom! Now how many nannies does she have…. Ummm…
