PTSD has become an epidemic among America’s veteran population. There are as many as 22 veterans a day taking their own lives as a result of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).  Paws For Purple Hearts (PPH) and its founder Bonnie Bergin have helped turn the tide by using “Warrior Canine Therapy” to fight PTSD and change the lives of our struggling veterans for the better.  This National Puppy Day, PPH hopes to get your support for America’s veterans. • Trauma-related behavioral health challenges such as PTSD are often forgotten about because they cannot be seen everyday like a missing leg or arm. For many veterans it can be more deadly than the places they were deployed because they cannot escape it. More needs to be done to offer help and support to these men and women.

• Paws for Purple Hearts (PPH) is dedicated to supporting our veterans who return from war with PTSD. Every day since 2008, PPH teaches veterans with PTSD to train service dogs for their disabled comrades.

Bonnie Bergin is located in Rohnert Park, CA.
